Mental Breakdown To Spiritual Awakening (Part.2)

This is such an interesting phenomenon; in the past couple of years the number of adult and teenage baptisms has increased by about a third and I keep hearing stories of college revivals in the U.S., most notably the Asbury Revival that started in February 2023 which sparked a wave of revivals at other universities. Could this be a sign that God is at work to bring healing and renewed life to this generation? It gives me so much hope to see the joy and comfort these people are finding in God, especially after I had been through chronic illness that caused me to lose faith in God\'s love and goodness. This poem is a fave.

And an interesting bit of history: when missionaries like Patrick, Columba, and Aidan brought Christianity to places like Ireland, the Picts, etc., they didn’t erase the local culture. They found ways to share the Gospel that connected with what people already knew. That approach actually worked. Earlier efforts, like Ninian’s, tried to copy the Roman way—top-down, forceful—and they didn’t last.
So it’s kind of a mix. Layers on layers...nuance...as is often the case in life. Just figured I\'d add some historical flair to the conversation, my friend. Happy Easter! 🐣😉
