Wow! Sadly I find well thought out commentary on the rare side on this site and I keep hoping that shifts soon in the other direction. If you like jazz , perhaps check out my piece ( on video) that speaks to how I feel Hip Hop and Jazz are the same. I would value your thoughts should you be so inclined to take s peek. It’s titled
Thelonius Reborn As the Dee Oh Double G.
Many thanks already.

MISSING AUNT CAROL

Now sir this is what I call a reminisce .. it is unusual upon the eye for a uncannily good rhyming poem .. initially I thought prose, but on eventual reflection .. I proved my self wrong .. Sadly, because of the pain of loss that inspired it, I enjoyed it no end ... and a fine introduction to your ink ..

All Good Things, Neville

ESCAPABLE TARGETS
L. B. Mek said:

forgive the toxic and unnecessary words below, dear poet
they\'re not targeting you, but just
the general verbiage of \'people of faith\'
trying to save the world, by cutting it up
into their own, valuation pieces
based on doctrine, inked
millennia ago by fingers, as fallible
as you and I...
(personally
I dream of a world
where having faith
doesn\'t denote, a self righteous
mindset
to judge and hurt others,
\'in the name of doing, good\'
where instead of oneness
and collective togetherness
people
wish for a segregated humanity
where only \'their faith\'
reigns supreme?
surely it\'s enough
for faith, to work for that individual
instead of acting like
it\'s another pyramid scheme, where adding
one more \'believer\'
adds value to your collective worship
I mean, what kind of deity
would have their creations, be born
in a home of one faith
separate from yours
and yet, only one set of beliefs
can save a soul?)
anyway, but what do I know?
forgive my overzealous and antagonistic words
if you can,
I genuinely
never want to be disparaging, about a person\'s chosen faith
just, some of the zealot \'need\'
to force others, to follow in line
still, I\'m sorry if my words
infuriate
forgive me

Words are the poets tool to deal with this world. Choosing the right ones is the quandary we face This poem alludes to some of the finest words ever written. It calls for \"making a difference.\" I heartily agree, - Phil A.

Thank you for the read and for the understanding. A favor ? A while back I won a poet of the month and the web magazine made a video. It was the first piece I posted and it seems to have kinda gotten lost with hardly any views so I’m hoping if I ask nicely a few more May view? The piece speaks to how I think Hip Hop and Jazz are the same. If that concept slightly interests you ….?
It’s titled Thelonious Reborn as The Dee oh Double G. Thanks

The history of music shows it intertwines connecting each genre bone by bone.
I absolutely agree that jazz and hip hop are both improvisational music.

Time is a cruel thing. It’s so easy to have a plan for your future, only to have life change the rules and throw some curve balls.
