Oops, they will sit up when you get to the last line of the poem - the \'s\' word!
I was at a poem reading group. It got dull and dour though, e.g. here\'s Mrs X again, who will waffle on for 20 minutes of mumbling - no-one knows what she\'s on about! lol. Look out for dull poets.

Thank you so much for that. I am new to poetry and more of a story writer naturally, so your comments are inspiring me! :-)

I\' don\'t post here regularly any more and most of my work these days is comical verse (or at least I hope it is) so I\'ve only just cpome across your work. Well I have to say it is so refreshing - nothing complicated, not trying to be clever but written from the heart and each and every one is a joy to read. I\'ll certainly be returning to your work in the future and thanks for posting - keep doing so.

Such an original piece, a dedication to a grandfather that seemed so precious, my grandad was also called Tom. Very nice to meet you.

I can remember well this scenario. While most people are still enjoying the festivities , you have to man the office. Hope you have a good new year.

Great Job!
As a writer who has had many ā€œfresh startsā€ over the year I too am just now returning. This piece definitely has helped and inspired my future writing because I was searching for all of my old work but I suppose itā€™s time to let it go.

We all want to have heroes when we are young. Then we grow up and invest in ourselves. Why be a clone of someone else when we can be unique. Nicely crafted poem.
