Finally Numb

Another raw and unflinching poem, Hayleigh, which you know I love…you’ve poured it all straight onto the page without filter. The scars, the questions, the surrender...it all lands with a stark honesty that’s hard to ignore. Powerfully expressed, my friend. My type of poetry for sure! And amen to your note, as well. Very heartfelt! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Now this is a master class Senryu, Hayleigh and I don\'t say that lightly. Haiku-like in structure (5-7-5) and, instead of a nature or seasonal focus (haiku), it’s centered on human behavior/emotion, irony, and wit...the humor of a fridge left open, the accusation, and then the shrugging “it’s only spilt milk.” Perfection, my dear friend. This is a fave from me just on nailing the senryu alone, let alone its meaning. Powerful stuff! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Great job, Hayleigh! Boys seem to play \"men\" more oft\' than not. Is anyone, other than themselves, fooled? Not I says...well...I. 🤪 Again, great poem, Hayleigh. A fave! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

The last line seals it. One that relies on violence is not mature or in this case a man but remains a boy. Boys do not belong in serious relationships. Well written a fave

Love this Senryu, Hayleigh! I can feel the emotions in this and its brevity only helps them land strong. Open to many different interpretations. Brilliantly penned! 🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Glass
Tristan Robert Lange said:

Hayleigh, this one cuts sharp and clean—just like the glass in its title. I can feel your pain. The simplicity in your phrasing makes the hurt hit harder, especially that last couplet…it’s the kind of line that lingers. There’s a fragile beauty here, even in the breaking. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛ So very well done! A fave!

Unappreciated is the word that comes to mind. A most lovely write that carries with it a sense of a love unrequited. Nicely written without malise of anger.

Hayleigh, this carries the weight of love and loss in every stanza. The voice feels spent yet unwavering…moving from longing to resignation with a painful grace. You’ve given the goodbye a haunting beauty, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Tristan Robert Lange said:

Hayleigh, this has major urgency. You’ve caught both the scale of collapse and the intimate cost…the smoke in the eyes, the soul ready to break away. It’s raw, direct, and it lands hard. Well done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
