The chorus of Christmas Day

Thank you Dee again for your great comments. I'm not sure about doing a recording, I'm not sure that my voice would do it justice (not sure it would do wheels on the bus justice for that matter haha)

Beautiful poem of nature's beauty and gifts Daniel. Your imagery is picture perfect, I felt I was seeing it all first hand..Great rhyme and flow and the voice in the reading comes through slow and gentle, I would love to listen to a recording of this one. I so love the dawn for the peacefulness and newness it brings. Bravo my friend....Beautiful work....Dee

Delicate are our wings
Dee said:
You are right Daniel - and I love the ending stanza..
'Yet we are born to yearn for more
To let desire rule our heads
And too often we chose to forget
How delicate are these wings we spread'
One to ponder on for sure, clear imagery and nice flow found in the reading...Bravo my friend..Dee

It's funny how we fall into the same old patterns we sought to avoid . I vowed never to repeat my parents misguided mistakes but every day is a battle to tread a different path. This poem really resonated with me.

Thanks for sharing and caring DANIEL. So often we can't see the wood for the trees and fail to see the beauty of what is on our own doorstep ! A beautifully constructed trio of free verse quatrains bursting with the joy and contentment of where you are and who you are. I have posted melancholy poems about the Referendum and England's humiliation ~ frozen out by Iceland! However your perfect poem has raised my spirits and I have lifted my eyes unto the Hills of the English Lake District (in my mind's eye) and thought I live in the most beautiful Country on Earth so why should I worry about the transience of Football and the EU ! The UK will still be here in a million years and even more beautiful. Lovely poem ~ lovely poet ! Thanks ~ Yours BRIAN

Thanks DANIEL ~ This is a universal poem and a universal experience. I'm glad i live in the UK and not Florida because we get four distinct seasons. Sometimes all four in the same day ! I'm old enough (33) to know that the CALM both precedes and follows the storm. All storms are just an interlude to teach us lessons but they all (in the end) pass. The same is true of all the vicissitudes of life. Winter is very important in the UK but in my experience it has always bee followed by SPRING the most perfect season for Love and Life. So the calm after the fiercest of storms can revive our soul until the next one. In my experience the Storm often knocks me down but it has never (yet) knocked me out ! Thanks for sharing ~ BRIAN

To mean the storm is life and the everyday clutter that seems to take over, and if you let it drown out all the good. Thank you again for the great comment.

I often sit in the silence and stillness of thought Daniel, and like you go over the yesterdays and compare to present days..
I weep sometimes from the missing of some that made my life special, the storms I have gone through and from the happy times.
Like you I get strength from what has been which gives me hope for what lies ahead. I can so relate to your words. I always listen to the voice that comes across in reading poetry, and yours was gentle. the imagery clear and all made for easy reading....... Bravo...Dee
Because the storm always wins ?
only if you let it...smile.

WELCOME DANIEL ~ Thank you for the challenge in your first poem. Planet Earth is probably unique in our Galaxy. Consequently if we look beyond the "Inhumanity of Man to Man" (as indeed we must) then we see "All things Bright & Beautiful" ~ and everything is beautiful ~ in its own way. In the UK we have had a Brit Ben Peake orbiting in the Global Space Station and every day Ben has been showing us just how beautiful Planet earth is from space. So I'm looking at it through Ben's eyes and it is indeed Bright & Beautiful ! Thanks for sharing ~ BRIAN
