Lost In The Cinema.
Eugene S. said:

Honestly, I think that humanity is becoming detached somehow. Lack of experience, ignorance of any kind of structures, a past long forgotten...
all of the above.

Not often I go for nostalgia (you do, Andy - but I\'m not all that keen), but I go for the days of yore when, on the purchase of a ticket, I was deemed enough of a responsible adult to go into the cinema auditorium and chose my own seat given the following parameters: distance of the screen having determined the dimensions of said screen and proximity to other patrons (Eccentric, I know but I prefer to not compete with the armrest with a total stranger throughout a two hour film, nor have some lout in the row behind kick me in the back whenever it took his fancy).........Thus endeth my rant of the day...😇!!!

Some churches have numbered pews - from days of old when folk paid to rent-a-pew.
Anyone in their pew would get a dirty look and get turfed out.
A couple of pews even had curtains - so people could draw them and doze during the sermon? Doh!

It was us two of course that made that first one small step for man, and one big step for mankind. We were on the Moon ages ago and met the first Earthlings who arrived there! Did we get there by the No.7 bus? lol.

Dancing With Joy.
L. B. Mek said:

hope she has a great day, Andy
we all need that, something
to engage with
and offer us an escape
from the repetitive dreary
of everyday routine
and dance, is a most wondrous
activity
for both body, mind and soul
a child of music
says it all

I have often asked myself this same question, Im sure we all have at some point,
True works of art and poetry is from the heart, meaningful and full of inspiration and emotion
In my opinion as long as we enjoy writing it and others enjoy reading our work, then it doesn\'t matter if it rhymes or not

Why there is this response is a natural human thing and observably applies to all categories of art and outside thereof. Funny that.

Well, yes, I think it is poetry, writing or not, or having those iambic thingys or not (pentameters) - whatever they are?!
But I get lost in poems that are too cryptic.

Respect Deserved.
Bella Shepard said:

When I was a child many moons ago, I was not only taught respect by my parents and teachers in school, but I saw it demonstrated by the adults in my life. Today I see adults who wear their disrespect for others like a badge of honor, as if this is acceptable behavior. I do however see glimmers of hope in many of our young people, who demonstrate compassion and acceptance, and hopefully they pass it on. You are absolutely right, it can be brought back. A great write my friend!

Respect is there for those who deserve it and I have taught it to my children. I would have to say as decent people they inherently respect those who are respectable folks....Christina

Doggerel Dave said:

Please define your terms, Andy. If you mean respect for Authority, then forget that. If you mean respect in ordinary human intercourse, then it most certainly has become more casual...
Good you bring this up every now and again - worth constant review.

I could not agree more with the sentiments you have posted today .. however, since values have changed considerably as you have already outlined, I additionally worry that if such values are not taught in the first place, then how on earth can they be further passed on down the line ... tis very sad indeed ..............
