As i walked to the only open, but unattended, checkout in Lidl the only visible staff member made eye contact and walked out of thestore only to return a minute later carrying something. Then she sat on the till and proceeded to check out my purchases. When she finished and asked for payment i said \"is it my turn to make eye contact now and walk away to make you wait\".. it appeared her command of English language wasn\'t capable of comprehending me. Or maybe she was just dense.

Fortunately Lidl service is usually very quick.

Like everyone else, i am aware of the untrained quality of \'those who are employed to serve\'. I rarely accept poor service without commenting something like \'have you not been trained how to serve customers properly?\'

We, as humans, may think we rule the earth but let us remember we only \'rule\' the land. Most of our planet\'s surface is covered by sea where we are inferior to every marine life form. An environment where we do not see any particular species \'ruling the roost\' but all behaving in a natural manner until man spills oil or suchlike.

Life on this planet will endure catastrophe after catastrophe but mankind is unlikely to be among those survivors.

As you can see, I found your piece a thought provoking read today.
