Powerfully written. Anyone that has had a relationship can find small bits of this that apply. A moving write that sounds too familiar to want to pay attention to yet is so gripping that one can not put it down. Nicely written

Trapped is a good word. Each decision we make in this life traps us into a new set of decisions. Emotionally engaging this poem..

It\'s unbearably difficult to fight someone else\'s addictions
Although sad I I thoroughly enjoyed reading
Maybe that is why you\'re writing
Glad to discover your writing
Will be reading more

This is so beautiful yet painful. I liked the way you broke down each phase and expressed yourself so well

Know that feeling (captured nicely) A long time ago now though.....
Give it one more try, if no change, walk away.

Beautifully said, Birddie! So often we think that giving advise is a good thing. But sometimes it is not! I just recently published the poem \"Bad Advise\", you might want to have a look at it.

Have faith in your inner strength young lady. Your circumstances force you into the discomfort of awkward and hurtful questioning of your \'destiny\'.
Woman was not meant to be forced into situations which are uncomfortable for them. What kind of a home and life would that result in?
There are many potential partners walking this planet and life is no race (or we would be born with a number on our back LOL).
Take your time, you know what you want, Accept no less or you and yours will suffer for it. Know yourself (as I\'m sure you do) and be true to yourself.
There should be many smiles each day in our lifes.

without fantasy, we would devalue possibility: immediately...
your questions, helps curate your dreams,
your dreams help visualise an actualisation path to what you want from life,
keep asking and doubting: for that is living...
remember, we are but flesh and when pricked we too - easily bleed, so don\'t be too harsh with that miracle reflection in the mirror,
cherish each nuanced breath - free of context and let us all learn to simply accept, those twists of fate that await...
thanks for inspiring my little scribbled reply,
I was drawn to the seemingly transparent honesty in your words, an enticingly accessible glimpse - depicting, those moments of doubt in our lives,
thanks for sharing

I like your poem very much. It is well written and there is much to be read between the lines. One could take your poem to mean much more, like how do we choose between comfort and risk, between the known and the unknown, etc. Well done Birddie!

This is written in a very human, very relatable way. We all have our struggles. You are facing one and I hope that the answer is shown to you quickly. Thank you for sharing.

Terrible theme to be living under. If this was really happening you\'d have to say \'where\'s your self respect? Is living like that all you think you\'re worth?\'
Thank goodness it\'s only a poem.
A very thought provoking post from you.

all puzzles come boxed - in shattered pieces, until that fateful day when worthy eyes - innately, touch and weave once loose pieces: whole, beautifully framed as nature intended,
sadly - yet again, they may be forced to separate from each other but every owner places the puzzle back in its box a little more complete, till finally the destined day of realisation is fulfilled and the puzzle sheds its own box, flaunts its pieces - arranged in the way it feels best: for itself and struts down the road, to offer a helping hand for the next box of broken pieces it recognises: as untapped potential... 🤝
thank for sharing and inspiring my scribble,

WOW BLUE JAY (one of my Fave American Birds !) Your poem is a bit strong but I can empathise ! We Ladies do give everything to our \"MEN\" but in my experience MEN so often TAKE but don\'t GIVE themselves totally in a relationship ! Im 30 and a bit wiser ! I share this site with my Fiancee Brian : and we plan to be married @ Easter 2020. So far our relationship is very solid but Iam on Work exchange (15 months) in New Zealand which is 11,500 miles from London UK : absence really does make the Heart grow Fonder ! Every Blessing for the future : sorry you have been let down !
