Sleep Deprived

I have come to the unremarkable but little-acknowledged conclusion that most of us are longing for unattainable happiness, in dark hallways, in dark streets, much of our waking, and dreaming, hours.
Your style has navigated toward a more decipherable imagery, but has not lost its joyous freedom to say curiously apt things probably never said or written quite that way before. I kind of miss some of your almost unfathomable outpourings that made one work to figure out the gist... which was through a dark glass wonderously obscure but for its sounds and sensations, but not through its literal linear meaning. The \"celestial light of moon rock\" of course is actually dimly reflected terrestrial light... but I am quite sure no one has described moonlight quite that way! Thanks as always!

You do indeed carve faces into trees, into pretty much everything! I love how you use the whole dictionary, like you don\'t want any word to go to waste!

Reason to live? Is this really you?
Seriously, watching you move through your feelings and experiences through your almost daily tumult of images and joyously confusing phrases, words combined unexpectedly to create chimeras and platypuses and centaurs, is like experiencing a series of sunsets on the beach, each day different weather, tides, waves, birds, clouds, boats, and sounds... for someone whose writing is as dense and sometimes seemingly impenetrable as yours, your feelings are always pretty clear, and one can almost intuit how your last day went and what you experienced.

As we age the days do indeed seem shorter. We shouldn\'t lose hope as it will only spoil the party called life.
Your words say many deep thoughts. Some of your metaphors are dark but beautiful.
Enjoyed the read. - Phil A.

Wandering is exactly what you are doing here, wandering though images and emotions and memories. By the way, the \"algia\" in nostalgia means pain, so yes nostalgia is painful! Thanks for sharing your reverie.

Distraction upon distraction prevents us from airing what we truly are, what we truly feel. Is what we truly need a compassionate society where acceptance is a norm?
Your interwoven way with verse left me with these feelings. I hope i am becoming more attuned to you individualistic style. A style reminiscent of the late kevin browne who posted on here regularly https://mypoeticside.com/user-6993

To me this speaks of a deep wound of love ungiven when it was needed the most.
Very easy for me to relate to having left home for life on big city streets at just fifteen. You brought back many memories and thoughts.
I read this several times and it\'s really well constructed.
I\'m inspired to write something similar one day when I revisit old haunts.
A must for my favourites

There is little as moving as revisiting scenes of one\'s less happy past. You are somehow free of it yet still embroiled in the pain. A sensational account of both the physical journey and the journey of the soul. Love the unexpected use of \"I caught fire.\" Yes you did. And you made this old soul cry too, right there with you.

The magic of idealistic romantic brought into stark contrast with life\'s reality of loss and pain. We cannot be the ideal beings we dream of..... but do the dreams ever stop... they shouldn\'t.
