The Main Drag

I guess the \"main drag\" is a drag. Too common place to be of interest. Exploring, \"where no man has gone before\" is far more stimulating. If too many people get wind of this it will ruin everything. Phil A

the heat haze
L. B. Mek said:

that imagery of the sun, is so classic
its place as that central component
in our survival
and that self-deprecating, contrast of a final line:
\'I\'m just a glimmer & a flash in the heat haze\'
a wonderful read, thanks for sharing dear poet

there is an organ piece written by J.S. Bach
titled \'come sweet death, come blessed relief\'
that would accompany your words really well, I think..
a great read, thanks for sharing dear poet
\'Echoes of ephemeral ecstasy,
lashings of leaves
dancing on the brief breeze.\'
\'to endure like extreme edifices
twined in sinuous sheets
that no one sees

is superfluous suffering.
In the wake of things past,\'
(truly, profound insight in these lines)

Food to ponder on this tribute to how life is passed on when fade becomes change. I really agree that there are no endings.

This is quite beautiful. Although I cannot answer the question posed. It is full of ripeness of life in it\'s asking.

The more I read it the more I like it, it has to go into my favourites.

to fall
L. B. Mek said:

A truly Brilliant write!
Please forgive me
for hijacking your comments section, dear poet
I just wanted to take the opportunity to share
a concept or outlook on anxiety/dread/angst
I truly feel may be helpful...
(Kierkegaard\'s \'Angst\', worded so poetic:
\"freedom\'s Actuality as the possibility: of Possibility.\"
Kierkegaard uses the example of a man standing
on the edge of a tall building or cliff. When the man
looks over the edge, he experiences an aversion
to the Possibility of falling, but at the same time,
the man feels a terrifying impulse to throw himself
intentionally off the edge.
\'Whoever has learned *to be anxious in the right way,*
has learned the ultimate…
Anxiety is freedom\'s Possibility, and only such anxiety
is through *faith* \"{not necessarily religion, can easily be
faith in our own potential} absolutely educative, because
it consumes all finite ends
and discovers all their deceptiveness.)

do shells become sand?
L. B. Mek said:

I really like the philosophical angle
you\'ve weaved into this poem
that those hardened shells, evolved
to withstand the brutal force
of Nature\'s endless tears, may someday
succumb, to the sands of Time;
and that metaphorical connection, between
the defences people cultivate
to survive life\'s chaos, only to find ourselves
trapped in our cocoon of loneliness
hoping that the passing of time, will free us
back into those sands, where
eventually we all end-up, entwined together...
what a brilliantly unique perspective of life
wonderfully executed, a Great read!

And what fine words you have found in your heart to compose this second to none poetry.
The few lines of yours i have captured above evoke such romantic loss and yearning.

Words #2
L. B. Mek said:

\'feeling the ache from your hurt heart
through the words of another man.
The book itself is so fragile
I fear it will crumble away in my
hands &
then the words will be lost
like petals bursting from
a soft, over-ripe flower.\'
(only words remain, so depressingly true..)
this reads so much like Ezra Pounds
\'the exile\'s letter\' (translated from Li Bai in Cathay)
the last few lines in that poems reads:
\'It is like the flowers falling at spring’s end,
Confused, whirled in a tangle.
What is the use of talking? And there is no end of talking—
There is no end of things in the heart.\'
