When I started writing, I wrote in long hand. Pencil (usually) and a hand-selected journal or composition notebook. Now, I mostly type my poems on computer, but still like to pull out ol\' pad and pencil. My poem today was written old school! 🤣 Anyway, a fantastic poem, my friend. Well done. 🌹👏

There is much metaphor in this poem Cryptic. I began poetry when the only was was with typewriter or pen and paper, certainty was paramount in that editing was a pain. Hard copy was the way but circulation was limited. Now there is no permanence but circulation is high. Loved this poem a fave

A beautiful tribute. Our \"Memorial Day\" is coming up at the end of May. It is emotional for me too. Many of my family members served and fought, including my Dad, who is currently paying the price for his service. I wish all wars would end, but we should honor and remember those who are forced to fight in them...and let their memory be the impetus for pushing for peace. A wonderful poem that highlights what we should NEVER no matter where we\'re from. A fave from me, my friend! May ANZAC Day be a powerful day of remembrance for you all in Australian and New Zealand!

LEST WE FORGET all subsequent wars, the casualties on all sides, (both civilian as well as military) the stupidity of politicians and the military industrial complex which inflicts it all.
A redux

A beautiful tribute to the fallen. Those brave souls that fought for what we no enjoy. A wonderful poem of metaphor that pairs the cold and heat of war with the cold and heat of what was fought for. The light and the darkness of what was wone. Great symbolism.

A powerful write. Writing has been a recorder and preserver of my soul, so this rings very true to me. It\'s funny, because I see you wrote this in \"long hand\". The poem I published today was written in long hand, along with another one! Yes, the fingers are not so used to that anymore, though I love the practice! 🤣 Well done on this, my friend! 👏🌹

Our memory lingers in our words and future travelers should they discover them and take the time to open the chest… peer for a moment into our soul. Well written and well said. Thank you for sharing with us.

Shall we return to our past? At times I wish it so, at others I would not for anything relive it. I remember well the times of pencil and paper, ink that could not be altered and paper copy. Maybe some day a solar flare with erase all our cloud history and we will start anew. Great write Cryptic
