Quite a tragedy and quite a poem recording the event. That was when he said \"Now is the Winter of our discontent\". A thoughtful poem.I really enjoyed reading this compadre

Very appropriate yesterday being the anniversary of the fire that burnt the Globe Shakespeare\'s theater. Well written in poetic form. Cheers

A dramatisation in the form of Shakespearean sonnet that is somewhat theatrical exploring the events, implications, and anticipations of the June 30th, 1613, fire that destroys William Shakespeare’s beloved Globe Theatre during a performance of Henry VIII when cannon shots set fire to its thatched roof.

Beautiful words, Rik. It\'s a beautiful Sunday here and your pic and words just made it all the better. \"Sometimes Leaping offbeat,\" made me think in a way of music. such that it drew a clearer image of the \"reeds\" in the wind. - Phil A.

Seeing as I rarely get any cryptic meanings, I thought the title meant this was gonna be about baked beans or sprouts! heehee. Bit windy!

This is amazing. It encapsulates the problem of Time and the human condition. There is no point looking forward it is unknown and there is no benefit in digging up the past.So we a locked in the present.Excellent piece compadre

No matter what, it is about moving forward. That\'s what I get out out this. To keep walking...step-by-step...and indeed, having done so in my life, I concur. Well done, my mon ami! 🌹👏

Surfaces and superficiality a constant of modern city life. To peer past them (the peel) can be very hard. Takes time and energy, while everything and everyone races on… Here’s hoping that makes sense within the context of your piece, mate.

Wow this creates such powerful images.Peel back the neon and what remains. For some its a living for others its a death. For me I avoid the bright lights of the city as much as I can.Give the home among the gum trees...lots of plum trees etc.Powerful poem very thought provoking.Well done

Mottakeenur Rehman said:

Peel Back the Neon\" hits with raw, electric energy—stripping away pretense and embracing the unvarnished truth. The imagery is vivid, from \"citrus and static\" to \"tongues dyed bright,\" painting defiance in neon hues. There\'s a fierce authenticity here, a refusal to be softened or decoded. The lines \"No algorithm knows how hard we hit / when we hit with nothing to prove\" especially resonate—this is poetry that doesn’t perform, it strikes. The final reveal, \"something too loud to fake,\" lingers like the hum of a live wire. Brilliant, unapologetic work.
