imposter syndrome
tallisman said:

Self validation or confidence is a two edged sword. You can cut yourself so easily. It’s all in the eye of the beholder, can anyone remember the book zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance? If not, read it…it’s not really about motorbikes!

I think poems can be just how we wish them to be, whether we have had training, etc, or not, e.g. Rhyming or not, free-style, formal, short or long lines, etc. :)

I hate missing you
Accidental Poet said:

Some things you have to let go of, other things can stay in your heart forever. But it\'s a choice you make, and a choice to live with. And you\'ll come to that choice when you\'re ready. Just give it some time. 👍

(been there, done that
set fire
to that tear drenched t-shirt
and felt better, for letting go
... eventually!)

you
L. B. Mek said:

(yup
funny, when we trace
the trajectory of our past relationships
what was once, irrelevant
soon became, our all-consuming reverent
and then, as inevitably
as monsoon rain
we become suffocated
by the humidity in our connection
and drenched, in belated regret...)
so true and relatable
another great read, dear Poet
thank you!

the miscalculation of time
L. B. Mek said:

what a kind way, to look at it
and somehow, it helps - I think;
like
when a kid kicks our ankles
we fist look down, raging
then smile, knowing
they just wanted our attention
lonely, they do what they can
to have us play with them, even
if just for a short while...
(a wonderful read, thanks for sharing
dear Poet)

Yes, time seems to speed up when we\'re enjoying ourselves, and slow down when we\'re not, or when there may be various troubles.

when change is forced upon a guarded heart
Sophenia said:

This poem is an exact reflection of how I am feeling. Change feels scary, but I also know deep within that I deserve it. But it\'s not easy to speak the words I am feeling. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem!

numbed: Raw
from
being overwhelmed
by it all..
(great job
you did well, to empty it all
and let Poesy, help
carry some of your load)
\'we Must
Utilise
our Art!\'
exemplary, thanks for sharing
keep digging, keep excavating
keep striving for that
introspection, self-emancipation
hope
I see you, on that ragged path
dear Poet

when change is forced upon a guarded heart
tallisman said:

Change is inevitable, and most painful on the cusp of adulthood. It’s like all your support network is falling away. In fact it’s usually still there but your expectations change….good write!

a poem to my younger self
L. B. Mek said:

yeah, sorry
I read your powerful words and just raged
cos
there\'s so many, who will never
have the strength and bravery
to word
their ordeal, like you
dear Poet
and every minute
another poor individual
is being dumped into that ill-fated
circumstance..
(at 3 years old
\'oh this one\'s gonna break a lot of hearts\'
at 13 years old
\'what a stunner your kid\'s becoming\'
.
.
.
apparently, this and countless more
\'praise\'
for the aesthetic, worth
of an impressionable child
is a perfectly accepted
form of conduct for a grown a$$
adult..
oh and this be the innocent ones
those, truly vile one\'s
simply lurk and pretend
while their barbaric mind\'s
plot, depraved thoughts...
oh yeah, don\'t forget - to:
\'listen to your elders,...., dear\'
Fckin hypocrites!
I can\'t believe
we can\'t drive till we get a license
but we can pop out a baby
and fck-up a life
acting like, we had no say
in accountability of our actions..
just horrid)
