The Ease of Small Hands

A poem open to interpretation could be a young woman but for me it is a small girl, innocent and full of life before it is dulled with years. So nicely written. Loved it

When You Read to a Child

The whole world is a book that opens to us. We are all children that if we open our eyes to the wonder around us are transported to new vistas. A lovely write

You are in all probability dead right. however, when all is going smoothly, when warm and cooperative interactions are the norm, why should I not call out aberrations to what I know to be possible?
Way back when you used the glass half full/empty to dismiss what may have been a facile comment on my part, left me without the inclination to respond again. And not many do, apart from ever present Soren, who keeps this site energised with ever present affirmations. You obviously don\'t care for interactions here - otherwise you would play the game. A pity, because you deserve a wider audience.

Beautiful words Gray and not just beauty and power but logic that seems to fit from past experience. Put them all together and you get a fave

Works Alone Now
sorenbarrett said:
This poem speaks to me Gray. Many years I have done manual labor and know the calloused hands and grease of work. You are most talented in your imagery and metaphors. Here I sense a metaphor as well. Is it not all humanity in their daily labors that are too busy to see the star light and is it not our work or rather technology that dims the skies? A most subtle message sent in such a powerful poem. Loved it

Gray you have outdone yourself on this one. Every once in a while I read a poem that I envy and this is one. Your wording and metaphors make every stanza a favorite all with good meter and verse. A fave for sure

A most wonderful poem written in great form that seems again slightly classical in nature. It asks questions that are most pertinent, especially at this time of year. Mind provoking. It is powerful and engaging loved it

In a time when people are constantly tethered to their phones, your poem is a real treat. I enjoyed your realism and the way you addressed the disturbance. I read your poem all the way through and truly enjoyed it to the end.

This poem speaks to me and seems somehow majestic. Line after line of beautiful crafted images that most would poets would dream to have but one of in a poem. A masterful work of art with metaphor that drips from. I can not tell you which line is my favorite for each has its own merit. The ending is the cherry on top. I believe that this is your finest work that I have read. I only wish that I had written it.

I feel like so many relationships these days are connected by social media and the internet. The feeling of being \"left on read\" or \"left on delivered\" can be crushing to some, though I think it\'s important we take a step back and focus on the smaller things. Your poem perfectly reflects this. Bravo!

The message of this poem earns a fave. But do not think that that is all the merit it has (the phone buzzes again and again a leash tied to my quiet moments ) a great line that is reflected in the entire first stanza. Well done.
