Gentleman Death
sorenbarrett said:
Gray I have always seen death as a kind friend that in its mercy takes away pain and strife. This poem fits well that view and I love it

He Always Corners Me

Metaphorical but so bordering on the real its passion felt in every line. We all have been there where someone enflamed speaks of the inane and unable to escape gracefully we are caught unwilling spectator to an argument we do not have. This poem masterfully evokes that feeling in lines understood and maybe halfway agreed with but distant in one\'s mind or level of priorities. A lovely write that could be taken a level deeper. A fave my friend

Poignant and haunting itself. The poem speaks of the power of silence and its effect. So true yet I ask myself when the other wants the last blow and word can it not be a proper defense? Well written Gray

In so many ways we are but shadows that come and go. A most interesting poem that seems a bit surreal while speaking in metaphor. Well done

Gods in Our Pockets

Wow! this one is right out of a dystopia that we have created where machines have become our gods. Where worship of the cell phone is an addiction and our self created god AI is just around the corner. A wonderful write and a fave

A great metaphor here Gray I always let nature be with my pets believing it knew best and never had any problems. But so it is with us all the unnecessary should we eliminate it, I took out my gallbladder, some remove their tonsils or appendix, one might even loose a kidney or lung. Well written and thought provoking. What of removing anger, or hatred,

Recovery in an environment I can relate to.
A little envious of your start to the day. With your coffee shop too far away, mine starts with very strong black tea.

Beautiful Gray there are certain things that tie us together and coffee is one I drink it as a social offering never alone. A great mix of images of the coffee house and its social clatter. Very well done my friend

From the title, I was waiting for the Mom to slap the child. (past memories I guess) anyway, love the metaphors,. It seems as they rolled together to elegantly.
Thank you for the read.
