Well written, gray0328. Your poem revolves around the appreciation of what one already possesses, rather than succumbing to a perpetual desire for newer, better things. The subject matter explores themes of contentment, nostalgia, and the value of simple, everyday objects that hold emotional significance and memories.

Quiet Heroics

Times were different and ages were different. With growth comes obligations and the time of lazy wonder is replaced with worries and demands with some nostalgic reflections. Well done Gray

Excellent, well penned. We live in haste. Gone are the days of slow and methodical.

The Patience Patch

In a lazy world of disposable items where things are no longer fixed but replace and even relationships are throw aways this piece may be hard to understand but I hear it and remember those days when mending things was a necessary art and the mended took on more value than the new. I love the line \"Fixing carried fingerprints of your effort. \" This has deep meaning for me. Very nicely done Gray

Well written. Your poem explores themes of time, presence, and the beauty found in slowing down. It contrasts contemporary impatience with a more contemplative approach to life, emphasizing the lessons learned from waiting and the significance of mending broken things.

Is this your own grandmother about whom you write? If so, you are fortunate. I never knew any of my grandparents. Beautiful imagery. Thank you for sharing this.

If The Whole Body Were An Eye
sorenbarrett said:

I have often wondered what it would be like to have other senses such as echolocation or inferred vision and with this what it would be like to lack one or more of our senses and this poem speaks of vision and what then about the ears. A lovely light hearted write about a very deep subject that influences all we think or feel about the world around us.

The poem’s playful “what if” questions really carry it.
It feels inventive and light without losing craft.

Hello! This is the first poem I\'ve looked at being new to the site, but this line: \"But I’ve seen pinkie promises hold entire universes between two fingers. \" , stood out for me as such a combination of innocence and existential energies...excellent work there! I was also impressed with how far you stretched the rhyme within the prose-- it almost came as a surprise.
