Coffee Break

Dang! How you handily create a yearning for a cuppa espresso and its delectable flavour! From the photo included to the hauntingly poignant reality conjured by your beautifully rendered tribute, oh! I swoon, I swoon!

Listen out at night
Cheeky Missy said:
Lovely and paired with an apt image, this beautifully evokes those poignant moments when the mind, slowing down with far fewer influences on it, may hear thoughts that in the busyness of the day and other activities were stifled. Excellent with great imagery. I like it very well.

Waiting Dreams
Cheeky Missy said:
It is particularly fascinating to me, seeing I am an incurable dreamer and have rubble heaps of broken dreams, and revising them to fit what's left of reality still makes them no more attainable though. Your concluding suggestion that mayhap the dreams have a tug of destiny to them, that there is a root which remains unchanged though the dreams may seem to morph with time is interesting. I dunno about that, but it is very interesting. Methinks the Lord's words that the Lord knoweth the thoughts of man that they are vain seems to run contrary to that happy concluding thought. I dunno. Just my two bits presently.

Memory Path
Cheeky Missy said:
Wow. I love the image paired with this interesting contemplation on memories. They can torment, comfort, and also be entirely stripped from us, leaving us bewildered in an unfamiliar world. They may be useful in helping us learn from mistakes and fascinate in the curiosity of how life might have been if such-and-such had been otherwise. The author's note adds to the poem's meditation. Memories may be helpful in turning us to the path of Truth, mayhap only if we had been shown it ere now. Will they hold us together or tear us apart? That as well depends on what memories we have. If of the Lord's Word and His work, then they may by His mercy turn us again to the way we should go, seems to little me. The imagery you employed in this submission is excellent and the entire piece a superb reflection on memories, seems to me.

Excellent imagery, laden with meaning, conveying the idea the author's note expresses beautifully. Short and sweet, so full of thought-provoking admonition. Lovely!

Survivor in Solitude
Cheeky Missy said:
Very interesting and thought-provoking. The surrounding madness of the world around us is aptly characterized as raging waves, yet as well within ourselves may rage a smaller sea, as you seem to allude. Solitude sometimes seems anymore what some crave as a restful ease from the bustle of everyday society. Just my present two bits.

I really love this one! It's very intriguing. I also feel like I've used "intriguing" to describe one of your other more recent poems as well, but it really fits for both. :)

My thoughts in fear

Why so sad?
You are blessed; no cuss can ever hold you down
You are always loved
You’ll make it through, your never alone
Don’t wear that frown!
Love patience & time, its gonna be alright
And it wont take long, it’s gonna be alright
:)

The Shallowest Place
Cheeky Missy said:
Fascinating and intriguing, beginning hopefully and ending hopelessly. A wild cry and plea for...love and salvation, almost pitiful with a tinge of poignancy. Your "author's comment" is so fitting. The longing is well-expressed and rather endearing for all it is hopeless yet pleading, a tugging request to the heart, yet with lingering uncertainty.

A Heart's Plea
Cheeky Missy said:
Beautiful and excellently depicted; perfectly expressed. I love how very well you portrayed it. Love, if we will take the chance, may very well injure us, and we are none of us worthy of it. Yet, to be granted that wonder of being truly loved, in spite of our natural shortcomings, that is what this cry pleads for, and Oh, that it may be granted. I really like this piece.

Wonder
Cheeky Missy said:
Ah, delightful admonition....so dreamily elevating....and yet....er, Who made the rules? Why are we here? We broke the rules in the first place for such folly and what a disaster we've lived in ever since. We imagine we are not ourselves...but if so, then who are we? Will you say caricatures? But we are ourselves, only in different scenarios...nobody else. Anyway dear Dolphine, not to strive, but that is my bold take on it....it is delightfully dreamy and inspiring,...yet misled, seems to wee me.
