The self-obsessed he
sorenbarrett said:

This poem paints a picture in words of a person turned inward, self absorbed. Well written the image is vivid and concrete. Nicely done

Without a father
sorenbarrett said:

This poem stretches the mind forcing it to go to sunshine and fair weather but also how a hose without a roof does not leak. It seems exposed for good and bad and somehow insecure. Nicely composed

Without a father
Demar Desu said:

For me it was a house without flooring...but thankfully I had gentlemen in my life that taught me how to be a man, and that\'s where my carpeting began. Great poem

I DIE FOR YOU
sorenbarrett said:

A poem that speaks nobility, short and direct it comes with a positive twist at the end. And unmentioned humility to not recognize the beauty in oneself. Lovely.

DO NOT
sorenbarrett said:

The poem is a wonderful expression of messages. Do not close my eyes when I die to me has different meanings (do not shut out the visions of this world) and (literal) also (do not take away my control) Let my eyes kiss the sky (such a poetic line) Two blues together ( A great line merging colors and existence) Now with the horizon line faded ( the blurring of life and death) Brilliant!! A fave

This one in its shortness made me think on more than one level. Nicely written it reads as scripture and yet is not. Very nice

The unspoken
sorenbarrett said:

Clever and self defining this poem sends its message in what is not said rather that what is. Its message powerful and unspoken. There seem layers in this poem and clues for one I am not sure whether scent or sent were meant. Very nicely done a fave

Beauty

Springs
sorenbarrett said:

This poem holds a sadness. The springs are alive and when they dry so does life. I have a spring that feeds the house and in over a hundred years it has not gone dry yet some day it might and I dread that day. And the nightingale will sing its song with a dry throat that day. A fave

I don’t have time to judge others
sorenbarrett said:

A lovely poem in its concept that is philosophical and proposes the idea of why curse anything because all things give us experience and that is good. Very nicely done in poetic form

The missing justice
sorenbarrett said:

A wonderful object lesson told in free verse. The strength of this piece is its buildup and surprise response by the professor. The psychological effect of group pressure is well know to the point that most people will agree white is black if the rest of the group calls it such. It is a very small minority of people that will stand up and say the group is wrong but a strange phenomena happens when one does blow the whistle on what is obviously wrong many more will join the cause. Your use of verse style to present this story gives it time to breath. Very nicely done. Since you asked, it might be even further strengthened with the use of some internal rhyme or near rhyme as emphasis and the use of meter for power in the read. I rate it overall a fave due to the story line and moral presented with a little polish it could be a classic

Well expressed. I can understand this, because to a much lesser degree (I\'m British/ Australian) I pine for both countries when I am in the other.

Friendship
sorenbarrett said:

You have shown in your images what is friendship a sharing of space and no fences. So metaphoric it needs no explanation and sets out the idea that as friends we share the land, weather and time itself. A fave
