I usually read poems over but the first reading of this poem left a feeling I did not want to disturb, whether correct of not. It was powerful and deep. The image of bare boned knees struck deep. This gave the feeling of despair at its darkest. A lovely write and could well be taken as that blackness felt by the sufferer of the illness themselves. Well done Katie and a fave

\'I wrote before I knew I was me,\' is an incredibly powerful line. It perfectly captures the feeling that creativity isn\'t just a hobby or a choice, but a fundamental state of being, like breathing. It feels like a true \'origin story\' for the soul. Thank you for sharing this. πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™

Your revolves around a cobalt blue mug, which serves as a metaphor for reliability and comfort. The mug represents a daily ritual of enjoying coffee or tea, symbolizing the warmth and connection found in simple, everyday moments.I enjoy my coffee the same way.

Katie this should be familiar to many, in that often we have a favorite mug, cup that is part of our ritual. So nicely described this poem tells its tale in most poetic form. Could this be a metaphor as well of a person that we hold dear?

When Sorrow Comes to Call
Tristan Robert Lange said:

Katie, this one hit me hard…the way sorrow becomes a visitor in that room, almost a presence you can feel pressing in. You carried the grief without letting it drown the language. Beautiful and devastating. πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

It is strange watching time ravage the frail.
In a way, you want their life to end with dignity, but most times it doesn\'t.
You can see why even after death, people feel raw.
