A poem of charity extended and the knowledge that one can not fix the plant when the root is damaged but one can momentarily allay the suffering. Well written Katie and so nice for the season

So many are homeless in a world where they could all be helped but those in power just do not care about anything but their own wealth.

Good write Katie yes I agree we are often our most judgmental judges and critics. Yes indeed some poems need to breath like a fine wine before they can be appreciated.

Good write K. I\'m reading a bit about consciousness, if this ties in at all with this poem? If having some pain, we may be aware of it, but in an \'unconscious\' sort of way. But the moment we start thinking about it, we notice it more, become conscious of it, and it may trouble us more then. Just a thought, though I didn\'t understand all the philosophising behind it (and that\'s a long word too! lol).

An Insidious Illness

Raw, exposed, an open wound that when it heals bursts open again to drain. A sad illness that is dark and gives its own prognosis as terminal. To cleanse this to the bone may be too painful and beyond the scope of the patient or even the surgeon. A very descriptive write that takes the reader on this dark journey to a nightmare world with them wishing to awaken from the dream. Well done my friend

Wow, a compelling poem. But in all due respect, I\'m sorry you\'re going through all this. It\'s so hard to comprehend1 struggle powerful words hang in there, my friend.
The poem serves as an exploration of the impact of mental illness on the individual\'s life, aiming to convey the often-hidden struggles faced by those experiencing similar feelings. It offers a raw and honest portrayal of the emotional turmoil associated with mental health challenges, potentially providing a voice for others who feel similarly isolated.

Depression sure is the silent killer in more ways than one.
A lot of people carry that weight, and although there is help, sometimes it\'s getting it.

Wow, a very powerful poem, Katie. The central idea of the poem \"Depression is a Family Illness\" revolves around the profound impact of depression on familial relationships. It portrays the struggle of a parent grappling with mental illness and the ways it affects their ability to engage with their children and partner. The poem ultimately highlights the cycle of depression and the bittersweet nature of love and connection, which can exist even amidst emotional turmoil.
