The same is true of birds but the atmosphere (air) does not vary with depth as do the oceans. We inhabit a 2 dimensional World unless we are in an aeroplane or a bathysphere (submarine). My Soldier in Heaven

(9) You gave your life to keep us free (15 & 16 & 18) Sitting on a cloud ~ uniform clean and pressed ~ My soldier in Heaven ~ looking at his military best ................. You are now at peace ! These are great words you have put into the mouth of a Soldiers Widow grieving at his grave. This will be a very suitable poem to use in a Armistice Day Poetry Reading.
