No More Fight
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

Thanks TERESA for another very moving poem from the Theatre of War. I lived in a Garrison Town and it is very moving when the troops are brought home with very serious injuries ~ blind ~ missing limbs etc and because of this unable to return to active service. For them there is NO MORE FIGHT ~ even though in their hearts they often want to return. Douglas Bader in WW2 continued to serve as a Fighter Pilot despite losing both his legs in a plane crash ! Simon Weston a soldier was very badly facially disfigured in a fire on board ship during the Falklands War 1982. He wanted to stay in the Army but they invalided him out because of hi injuries. He is a celebrity Speaker and Author. He is married with three children. Disabled Veterans find it very hard to rehabilitate outside of the Military. Several are in the UK Paralympics Team. Love BRIAN XOX

Thanks TERESA this poem echos a lot of peoples inability to understand why a Country engages in WARFARE when and where we do ~ FIGHTING IN A PLACE WE DON'T BELONG etc etc. This is a very challenging poem. In the SECOND WORLD WAR ~ millions of lives were lost millions were injured and the history of the whole World was changed. If the UK and her Allies had not fought to the death against the THIRD REICH and Her Allies ~ I believe the World today would be in a much worse state than it is' . When War is declared we must trust our Leaders and Politicians and answer the call ! Ours not to reason why ~ ours just to do and die ........... Because of the inhumanity of Man to Man ~ War is inevitable in every generation Thanks for sharing ~ LOVE ~ BRIAN

Silently Pray
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

Thanks TERESA for another beautiful poem in the form of a Prayer. I recently heard a report from one of our Chaplains working In IRAQ. He said it is easy to get the Soldiers to pray and read their Bibles because they know that each day they face death and they want to be ready to meet their Creator. The rhythm and rhyme pattern are perfect lovely to read and recite. Stanzas 1 & 2 see the Soldier Praying as he prepares and then goes on Patrol. He prays for himself and his crew. In Stanza 3. He invokes The Lord's Prayer ~ Even I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death ~ You are with me ~ Your rod & staff they comfort me ~ AMEN. Stanza 4. He thanks God for a safe return to Base and prays for his safe return to his Wife and Family. This last verse really made me cry ~ Thanks for caring. You are altogether Lovely ~ Love BRIAN

Thanks for caring TERESA ! I was in America on 9/11 ~ Independence Iowa ~ and the terror and angst was worse than any Horror Film I have ever seen. I visited Ground Zero in 2002 wih a Friend who worked on floor 101 in the N Tower ~ he was out on deputation that day but he lost many colleagues. We all cried when we saw the desolation of Ground Zero. I visited the Memorial and the new Single Tower last year very very moving, Love the structure (rhyme & rhythm) of your poem and the words are a beautiful tribute to the 3000 who died. The USA was knocked down ~ BUT ~ will never be knocked out. Love you BRIAN.

THANKS YOU TERESA ~ You are so lovely. Another passionate and perfect poem ~drawn for your own dedicated experience. Only you could hav written this ! 21 lines pulsating with rhyme and rhythm. What are your THOUGHTS about .................. ? Am I god enough ? (YES) What do I have to prove ? (NOTHING) Did my Patient make it ? (YOU DID YOUR BEST) Why am I so ~ scared ~ afraid ~ crying ~ (because you are NURSE and a PERFECTIONIST) You will never be FREE ~ because (even though you are the BEST) for you even your best is not good enough. Thanks for caring # LOVE YOU LOTS & LOTS # BRIAN.

I like the way you brought something to life that many of us ignore or push aside. I'm an old Vietnam Vet. I was lucky and remained stateside in a training facility. I was young, ready to fight and now see it all as so senseless.

TANKS TERESA ~ Another great tribute to the Vets ~ The VIETNAM WAR was before my time (1959 - 1975) but I understand Americans hated it and the Vets were badly treated when the returned. The picture you paint (40 yeras on) is shameful and distressing, Vietnam Vets ~ begging on the street ~ and insufficient fund to clothe themselves, When i visit America i see a lot of equality. All Vets deserve respect even if we do not have respect for the conflict they were in. The same id true of Vets from Iraq and Afghanistan ~ little change. Thanks for caring ~ Love BRIAN, Please check my latest poem ~ THANKS B.

WOW ~ This is really beautiful TERESA both to read and recite it has given me another elegant poem for my November 11th Poetry Reading. I like you use of "half rhyme" it is very subtle and gives the poem individuality. You are an excellent student of Poetry ! Love all your poems because they are from your loving heart ~ Love BRIAN

Thank you ANGEL for a very moving and complete story in your poem. We all have loved ones in the Military and we pray for them 24/7 for their safety and above all else for their safe return. When they do return safe it is an opportunity to thank GOD for both hearing and answering PRAYER ~ AMEN BRIAN

BRIAN & ANGELA said:

BEAUTIFUL POEM ANGEL ~ Every season has its beauty and its compensations and is essential in God's natural annual cycle ! In the UK & the US Autumn has a visual beauty (New England & the Aspens in Colorado) to compensate for the drop in temperature and pr prepare us psychologically for Winter and the treasures of the snow ~ which paints the drabness and blackness of the rural and urban landscape on pristine virginal whiteness ~ awesome.also there are lots of parties and festivities in Winter. Snowdrops begin to peep and we know Spring is here followed by the lazy ~ hazy ~ crazy days of Summer. I love our Planet and its ubiquitous Seasons ~ Thanks for reminding ~ Love BRIAN. Please check my latest poem ~ TOGETHERNESS ~ THANKS B.
