\"A blink of an eye, between the righteous and the fool.\" \'Wasted years as he filled his glass with her tears.\" Brilliant phrases, among a poignant poem of self-reclamation. The artwork depicts the sense of freedom she must have felt, once she became that \"born again jewel.\" It requires a great deal of courage for someone to free herself from such a relationship. Awesome write. Terrific poem and painting. - Phil A.

46 years into a marriage and still, things mystify me, about her, about us. My faith in her, in us, all of us now, still remains. I believe the \"earthquake\" happened the moment I met her, she would challenge that notion. We still look ahead to a future together, and more and more we harken back to memories.
Well, to say I loved your poem would not do it justice. I was caught by the first stanza, confirmed by the second, and succumbed by the third and fourth. Thus enthralled, I read on through stanzas 5, 6, and 7. Then, you gave us the 8th, a loophole out, a method of expression, and a summation of all that proceeded. A fantastic journey, a wonderful poem, one that I must save. _ Phil A.

WL you wrote a great tribute to the one you love. Having that someone on our side through the good and bad times until the very end is really all we can ever ask! Love the way you handled the light in the portrait!

It\'s such a wonderful piece you have here-a painting with a heartfelt poem to match. Isn\'t it wonderful to have found that perfect someone? LOVED the poem, I hope she loved the tribute! You are both very lucky.

A lonely hovel took you to a flower that no one else saw is the positive I took from this sad piece so well written and a beautiful painting to go with it.

I think the painting is a stirring representation of loneliness and depression. The poem paints an equally mournful picture of one overwhelmed by the emotions depicted in your painting. A sad ending as both are swept away, but only poetically, both remain captured in your art and poem. Found this fascinating. - Phil A.

Beautifully written, WL, but haunting. You captured that loneliness really well. I like the whole poem, but especially the ending, which isn\'t really an ending, but open ended...
The painting expresses the feelings and undercurrents from within the poem. Well done, Kudos!

Very good emotion laden write, I do hope that the windows can be replaced.

That artwork is very good even if it is somewhat disturbing, but art should produce feelings in the viewer.

Your incredible poem made me think, WL. And you are right, one does not have to be a writer to be a poet.Under definition of \'poet\' it does say \'A person who writes poems\', but it also says: \'a person possessing special powers of imagination or expression\'.

This was a really cool poem. Kept me captivated. And it\'s so true that people who have never written a verse, in all those places you cited, \"is where we find the true poets of our universe\". Excellent!
