BRIAN HERE ~ Thanks for sharing (and scaring) SUE ! An elegant ODE in nine Rhyming Couplets ! COVID 19 is scary ~ but ~ if we ignore it & congregate ~ it ACCUMULATES ~ if we respect it and isolate ~ we will have it under control like FLU ! KIDS (as you know) expect answers *Uncle Brian can you make a pill to kill it ?* *Aunty Angela will exercise make us immune ?* I explain that Biochemists & Virologists are cooperating Worldwide to creat a VACCINE and Angela explains that Fitness & being less obese makes one less prone to disease. WE must all keep alert well into 2021 and support each other ! Please chesk our SYN-ACROSTIC ~ EXPECTATIONS ~ Thanks A & B !

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours
Love Angela & Brian & Smokey !

Words of needed encouragement to keep carrying on while house-bound - a voyage that could find us doing things we never knew how before lockdown are both easy and fun. Thanks for sharing the gloom of fear\'s questions unanswered Sue - - look forward to reading more of your work,

ANGELA HERE - Good Evening Sue. Thank you for your very elegant Poem - but with a tragic content. Repetition is very important in Classical Poetry ! The tenfold repetition of *OVER 10,000* sure emphasises your message. Flu is a CARONA VIRUS and COVID 19 is a very virulant mutant for which as yet there is no VACCINE (were working on it !) or CURE it just has to run its course - which (mainly with the 70+) can result in DEATH ! It is much more virulant than flu (1 in 1000 die) with CORVID 19 it is 1 in less than 100 ! I am an PHYSIO so I am aware of the Trauma inside the NHS which is at Beaking Point - 88,621 confirmed cases 11,324 deceased. The tragedy is that in the UK 19 NHS workers have paid the ultimate price - some of them who have come out of retirement to assist in BATTLE. It is estimated the final UK Death Toll could be much higher. This is why the end of lockdown is not in sight in the UK.

Thanks for caring and sharing
Yours ANGELA ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’›

The worldwide figures are of course higher and affect all in just the same way. After all, foreigners ARE human too.
But what, if anything, will we learn from this? What, if anything, will you learn from this?

sue.evans said:

Thank you for your lovely words - we certainly are in strange times.
I also wrote this prayer for the time

A prayer for our time

Our NHS, who are in our hearts,
honoured in our minds,ย
Out of retirement some have come,ย
When there is work to be done,ย
on the front line for all of us.ย

We give you this day our daily thanks.ย
And we realise your torment and stress,ย
as we fight this virus
That threatens against us.ย

Donโ€™t lead yourself into temptation,ย
but isolate to help deliver us from this evil.

For ours is the responsibility
and the power, and the duty,ย
To protect the NHS and each other
For the sake of all we hold dear. Amen.

Goldfinch60 said:

Delight is there for us, people are coming together even though they remain apart. I hope that this wonderful way that many people are coming together during this time remains when all is well again.
Your words express the happiness that can be found in trouble.
