Being an ex~Headmistress your poem is not only erudite in SUBJECT ~ but also elegant in STRUCTURE and pulsating with Rhyme & Rhythm ~ the twin elements of good readable and recitable POETRY ~ I am a performance POET.
You wont like the true definition of MODERN POETRY ! MODERN ENGLISH POETRY is just a collection of random WORDS ~ any WORDS in any order ! Modern Poetry requires neither RHYME nor RHYTHM or even REASON ! It breaks all Rules of Grammar and approved Spelling. The famous Poem ANARCHY is an excellent example of a POEM with a TITLE but no WORDS ~ like the White on White Painting which once won the Turner Prize like Tracy Ennims unmade bed. there are some excellent examples of MODERN ENGLISH POETRY on MPS !
