For some reason it\'s not letting me favorite this at the moment... But

\"but i am not my father’s son,

and i never was my mother’s daughter

i am the burning streak of light against

the dark velvet of the sky, the echo\"

I got chills. Thank you for sharing and Happy Pride Month ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Enjoyed the third stanza enormously. Doesn’t take money to swoon someone that might fall in love with you.

James Michael said:

Metaphorically the best poem I’ve read in a long time. We all must realize the hardships we face in search of love. A broken heart can be the best kind.

❤️❤️

all in the name of love
jarcher54 said:

Whatever that name is, most of us have one we can chant in our quiet thoughtful hours, and feel a whole life of love, regret, shame, warmth, and wonder come flooding into our hearts. Thanks for the bittersweet reverie.

My goodness, this pervading sensation of nostalgia and wistful love is literally so evocative. Like your yearning for a sweet relationship, similar to the one shared as children, truly highlights your desire for a strong, firm bond. The last line is also such a wonderful line: wanting to not only grow old, but also mature in a relationship. This reminds me of a song by New Zealand singer Lorde entitled \"Ribs.\" (I highly recommend it).

This piece shows your rage as well as your pride and I hope you hold onto that pride forever. This is beautifully written and as a member of the LGBTQ community myself I hope everyone will continue to fight for you as will as the rest of our trans brothers, sisters, and siblings. I hope your fire never dims:)

Literally, this poem is a wake-up call to all those who oppress trans people. You\'re voice will never be silenced, continue to write these marvelous poems! Embrace your true identity, and know that there will always be those who will embrace it with you as well. You are loved

Not really in the mindset for anything other than simplicity. Winter stagnation has set in.
