Boaz, a very well written poem with an important message. Would be nice to have this one posted in the New Yorker or some other influental newspaper. It really brings home the point that we have to be more accepting of the differences in all of us. My wife is Chinese, and in the little village in Switzerland where I grew up, at that time they looked at her as if she was an alien.

Well, it\'s ironic maybe, that 40 is an EVEN number, if even numbers are meant to be good for you?! And yet it was good, in that you survived. A good write Q.

Very good and very emotional writing. You do put it all out there. I am glad you wrote a comment about your poem and am happy for you that you are better and safe now.

Beautifully written, with much emotion and understanding. Now I get at least an inkling on how it must feel to be trapped in a different body.
Thank you for sharing.

Welcome to the site Sebastian. Wow, that is quite a piece of work you present as your first poem. Very impressive, written from the heart. I cannot even start to imagine how you must have felt, growing up, but I could feel the pain in your words. Very well written. Would like to read more from you.
