Vicious Cycle (10 words)
Syd said:

Hi James, I agree with what you say about medication, the majority of people genuinely need them.

Here in the UK under the government starved NHS the doctors and nurses do the best they can. A lot a people I know where I live get the impression that the local GPs just don\'t want to listen to you properly and are quite happy to write a prescription just to get you processed and back out of the door.

As for my sobriety, I\'m only a week in. I\'ll admit it is hard though with no support.

Thanks - Syd

Honest and Well written, Syd!

I volunteer at a rehab center, and I hear your written words spoken many times! I wish you all the best for your “dry January”!

An honest, raw, eye-opening account! Well written too!
Having grown up with an alcoholic father and drinking more than I should sometimes myself, I know where you are coming from.

Yes I agree. I\'m not in such a bad way as make out in the poem though, but I\'m definitely doing dry January. I\'ve been overindulging for about the last three months.

Hi Fay, no need to apologise for your wry smile. I think my parent\'s forgave me, my father probably can\'t remember as it was 20 years ago, such a long time. I tried to make the poem humorous even though I was genuinely upset at the plight of my hamster.

This true tale explains why young lads have to wait a while before learning what life has in store - a great flow to this sad little read of a loved hamster breathing his last. Sorry Syd but I had to hide a wry smile at your plight - hope your parents forgave you for lying to them.

A fine write Syd. I started with \'soap-land\' happiness, then saw \'Eastenders\' and plunged into dark depression. Then again, so would anyone! lol.

Hi Syd

I liked this

That was powerful and brilliant.

It\'s so sad in the world so many have plenty and so many have so little.

We should be grateful for what we have ultimately.

Keep writing
