A wonderfully polished piece with a great message, Cassie.
After the comments above there is little else to say, other than as a reminder that differing points of view can have equal validity in the eyes of the beholders, it makes more sense than my blather right hereβ¦. π

A wonderful story, a great poem, what else can we ask for. Oh yeah, the story has a moral. Great stuff, Cassie.

How often a child\'s innocence is lost because of foolish adults. So often children are treated with ignorance and are looked down upon when they are more brilliant and understanding than realized.
Thank you for this reminder of adult failure.

You have brought back a thousand memories from home, neighbours in London in the 80\'s was one of my most cherished memories, how we were a community and how everyone just looked after everyone else. I can\'t tell you how much I\'m smiling this is purely beautiful, your Nan, purely beautiful, I was born in south London so the noise in your poem has brought even sound my tiny back garden where we grew blackberries and honeysuckle grew, and most of all, what my dear mum used to tell me, she gave her step sister her last cigarette because she needed it more than my mum. I love this dearest Cassie. Thank you. πΉ

A fine write to accompany so beautiful a song by Joan Baez, one of my all-time favs of her. And Dylan, one of my all-time favorite poets. I always felt so sad that they didn\'t stay together. πΉ

Excellent poem Cassie.
Your words are so realistic. Most people fear death and fail to see that it is a part of the cycle of life.

Write from the off, this is such an emotionally charged poem Cassie, so full of love and loss as you mention in your second verse .. it tells a tale that is clearly both autobiographical and reflective ..
Joan B\'s Diamonds & Rust album sits among my very own collection & the track in question is not only one of my personal favourites but must rank amongst one of the very best folk love songs of all time ..
Your concluding verse poses an intriguing question also and one that I imagine each of your fans will decide for themselves ..
I have seen Dylan many times, the last time last year in Cardiff when he was back on form and amazing .. I am due to see him again maybe for the last time this coming November in Bournemouth ..
Our European robins eggs are not blue they are creamy buff or white speckled with a reddish brown colour more so at the large end ..
I reckon Joan was referring to the US version ..
An amazing poem here Cassie, just be sure you never fail to impress and to please .. Have a marvellous Monday chuck .. Neville

Saw them in what was supposed to be a joint concert on Boston Common in the early sixties. Joan sang beautifully for nearly all the time of the concert and Bob was explained as being ill. When nearly all the crowd had left, Bob showed up, stoned out of his mind, and mumbled a couple of songs until security grabbed him and took him to safety. Still two of the greats of the \"Folk\" era, and Bob a supreme poet, ahead of his time.
Needless to say, your poem brought back memories for me. I\'ve been a fan of both, all my life. Your poem was a wonderful adaptation of \"Diamonds and Rust.\" Very inventive. Loved it. - Phil A.

Joan Baez and her song Diamonds and Rust has always been a favorite of mine. She tells of her relationship with Bob Dylan and it applies so well in this poem metaphor or not. Wonderful wording and flow with a bit of a question at the end. Very nice Cassie

A most sweet and hauntingly innocent poem of love and loss through the fanciful eyes of a child. The imagery was wonderful and the rhyme scheme was perfect for this piece. Brilliant!
