It seems that 1949 was a good all round year Orchi. Many thanks for enjoying my nostalgia. A portrait of my mum and dad.
Have a happy Sunday.

A fine write Cassie.
I was reading of a spiritual revival in the Hebrides in \'49. An amazing things - houses seem to literally glow with God\'s glory, as some observed.
I suppose I was there in person if I say I\'m millions of years old. lol.

The wonders of old black and white photos, there\'s nothing like them to stir memories or imagination. I have a photo album full of them that belonged to my mother. It\'s a nostalgic journey like no other. Thank you for this lovely peek at a past that turned into a wonderful future. Beautifully written, thank you !

This was more than Kodak Monochrome, but more for me Eastman colour, Cassie. I was 12 (\'53) on the beach at Sandown IOW when I began to observe that....wondered what the future would hold and if it hadany relevance to me.
Good at nostalgia, aren\'t you.....

My grandfather suffers with dementia! It\'s truly devastating seeing them unable to recognize you since we have so many memories together , the best I must admit! But I try to remind myself that this is the results of time and keep the good memories in my heart ! Loved your poem Cassie, very moving!

Wonderful words Cassie, I know all about dementia my wife had it and I looked after her for many years watching her get worse, she died from it and it was a release for both of us.
I say to people now who think they know about dementia that haven\'t live 24/7 with somebody who has it they haven\'t a flaming clue.

It\'s hard to know who suffers the most; those who are afflicted or those who must watch them go through it. For both it is devestating. You bring this home in such a heartfelt way, something so many people live with every day. Kudos my friend!

A most beautiful metaphor and image. The reality of the picture so nicely worded to bring this picture to mind and in metaphor it strikes a deeper chord. Very nicely done Cassie
