You just sent shivers up and down my spine .. what an amazing tribute to a one heck of an artist taken too soon .. Where did that decade go .. I remember visiting my son who lived around the corner from her and seeing all the floral tributes banners and cards ..

Read Tichborne as advised. Yes, such a waste of young life. Like Keats and Many War Poets also.
Sad Elegy.

horrors of addiction!😢

this affliction....😕
Thanks for sharing poetess!!

You could, I think raise a wineglass without too much guilt as there were many factors, psychological, social, the industry’s pressures which contributed to Amy’s death. Your poem is in good company with the many and lasting tributes to a great talent, Cassie (Lassie incognito).

Makes me muse about the disconnect… too many have been cut off from their possible life so early on, and we are still here whether or not we “deserve” to be, if that even is the word for it.

Yet still not many really take much notice, as we just lost Liam Payne too, I remember sitting in disbelief, she really was a talent, fame took its toll, alcohol and drugs far to easy to find. Such a kind tribute dearest Cassie. 🌹

A tribute to a sad soul who left us with much music having lived a life of pain and misery. Addiction is often chosen by artists as their medication of choice. Well expressed Cassie.

A very sad end and an extremely talented soul. Tortured but beautiful. Love Back to Black. Great album, great artist. Fitting tribute. Indeed, it is amazing at how insensitive and careless people can be with their alcohol traditions. Astute observation. Brava! 🌹🌹👏🖤

I do not drink alcohol but have suffered the effects of family members who were addicted, Thankfully, they have their acts together today. Your composition is a service.

Friend, you have moved me! \"let me tell you this / tears dripped unrestrained / a poem penetrated tissue / of resistant pain\". I can find my home in these words. I have never been a supporter of the death penalty. Reading any of these stories haunts me, and should haunt all of us, frankly. Very, very exquisitely written! Beautiful! 🌹👏

Some people really don’t take notice of those type of things .. when I walk around town sometimes I see a lot of pigeons and hardly anybody takes notice( or at least doesn’t seem that way ) .. I always do. Say hello to them ‘ sometimes ‘
A good writing I like how you have personified the trees ‘ crying out ‘

Don’t know why people don’t take notice

History is for me where all truth begins…. but not that early. Hard to understand the mindset of your man and Guy Fawkes and the place of a religious belief so important to them. An introduction for me to a period I knew little about.
Given my feelings/attitude to capital punishment I found Tichborne’s poem, as you say, particularly poignant.
So many thanks for that Cassie aka Lassie.
