A wonderful, beautiful, multi-layered poem that rewards multiple reads. I have seen many say that very thing...because it\'s true! Well done, dear Melvin! Well done! ๐น๐๐ค

Well penned, Melvin. There\'s urgency in your words...especially at the end...and my fears are right where yours are my friend. I know we are seeing things very much through the same lens. That said...magnificent poem, my friend. Seriously...magnificent! ๐น๐

Make Light Of What You Will
Cassie58 said:
festive be thy name now kingdoms come
Dear Melvin, this poem fills me with foreboding about the future
make light of what you will
It speaks to me of darkness. The final two lines fill me with apprehension. The days we live in are troubling.
Always look for that glint of light, never give up on hope. That is how I read you.

I particularly love the last lines
the burning wood of heritage
will one day burn as quick as we can run;
These enigmatic lines push the envelope of thought.

Following ones heart and being true to ones soul is the most enlightening and most achieved goals one can ever have. A true peace can come from just being who we are and also to know that it doesn\'t matter whom will accept us because indeed we except ourselves. Come Christmas or indeed any other season. Sometimes of course when there are those around us that we see going down the wrong roads we can also choose to be ourselves not accepting them because they choose happily to be the way they are. Following a good example in my opinion makes the world a sweeter place. ๐น

I see all the visions from underneath the rose garden in this, what a picture it is, dark as dark can get, yet powerful and gracious right to the end. Another wonderful piece of poetry. ๐น

Such vivid imagery here, so rich in content and also some wonderful lines
a pheasant with no heart,
white china flown with lullabies
buttered limbs and a pinch of cyanide
these lines tell an unhappy story.
I miss John Lennon too and his iconic Imagine, is a true legacy to his genius. I also listened to Dream as I read through.
At this time more than ever we can hope and pray for peace on earth. Kudos to you Melvin and Teddy. You are both inspirational poets. Thank you so much.

I think this is an epic of magnificence, your imagery pure to see and to feel in its emotion, your poetry is the reason I can write you inspire me with the passion behind the ink and I am truly grateful that we are friends dear Melvin, your one of my all time favourite poets, you are a true gentleman and we have shared our stories and we understand so much from beyond what we write. A huge kudos as I always say, creative imagery which is truly on a level of distinction, original and one of a kind. Honoured to know you Sir, the end of your poem I\'m sure I heard the voice of John in all his somber. So very true of today. Let\'s hope there are better times ahead. ๐น ๐น ๐น

Here I felt a series of poetic lines fall as leaves from trees. They swirled about me and blew in the wind. I could hear their rustle and feel their dryness as they crackled and crunched under foot. They spoke in whispers and with the whistle of the breeze. I knew that they were once part of trees. A lovely write.
