A Saucer For My Combat Garb
Teddy.15 said:

Two of my Grandparents were Scottish, this is full of heart and soul dearest Melvin, I\'m totally in love with these lines...

there are none so bright as they who kiss farewell;

from the needles of a tree,

there is hogmanay in your heart I cannot see.

what chaos comes from the thunder in our eyes?

The way you get your reader to see into your poetry is a true gift my dear friend. ๐ŸŒน

Just the other day in conversation, someone mentioned the fact that it hadn\'t felt like the new year had started yet, like a rolodex that wouldn\'t click over. Having said that, this poem appears to be symbolising a new beginning that remains hidden from the poetic persona\'s view, adding a layer of mystery and longing to its narrative. This \'saucer\' beautifully contains the complexity of human emotions and the interplay between external landscapes and inner journeys. A true joy to read.

that line stands out as it is duplicated and adds emphasis to this intriguing piece.

There are two references to Scotland, one is Edinburgh, the other Hogmanay, yet there appears to be distance on the authorโ€™s part. The whole poem gave me a feeling of being away from that which offers most peace and tranquility. I felt an emptiness as though someone is missing. Always a pleasure reading your poetry Melvin. I enjoyed the references here to the natural environment. Another fine poem.

I get the sense of a lot of restless travelling but at each stop finding something missing, that stops it being home, i am probably wrong, but that is how comes across to me. Enjoyed the read and enjoy the rest off your weekend.

Words, each brings a message and feeling and in their combination different colors and hues. This poem leaves feelings of not belonging.

Always wonderful poetic expression in your work.

ride with the pale wet leaves of a new/born calf?

You ask a question. I have no answers. I do however wish you a very happy and healthy new year Melvin. All the best.
