Fisherman\'s song

\"It drips from a barbwire crown
A fisherman can never drown
Born of a virgin daughter
He walks on troubled water\"

Wow! These words cap off an already image-rich and deep poem. I know you are not a religious person, my dear friend Soren, but these words speak all levels of truth, especially spiritual truth. The Biblical references are masterful and serve the larger point of the poem without falling into the trap of being interpreted religiously...a fine line that you have walked with finesse, my friend. This is art...speaking truth...pure and simple. πŸŒΉπŸ‘ Faved!

It was a thought-provoking poem. I may also need to consider what can be seen from the shadows of my thoughts.

it is a funny old world isn\'t it .. sad too much of the time .. I doubt that many of those who talk the talk really know what they are talking about or how their actions & inactions impact on others and indeed upon the world in general both directly & indirectly .. and I really do have a thing about trees πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

Wonderful poem that cuts the BS and gets straight to the truth. It\'s good will to \"men\"...but how can there be good will for humans if we fail to show good will to the earth? Provocative and true write! Well done, friend. πŸŒΉπŸ‘

Some versions amend it to something like \'Peace on earth; good will to men with whom God is pleased\'. But He isn\'t pleased with those who go on sinning.
Yes, we should respect trees, etc. Many have been around longer than us, unless you\'re 100 million years old, like Goldfinch and I are! lol.

I’ve always believed that the searing pain of guilt is itself the price to be paid for wrongdoing; that true justice is brought on by the internal process of feeling guilt, learning from it, and (hopefully) working through it into self forgiveness. It is human to make mistakes. Now what defines the future is how do we move forward from them
