Dear Bella, I also have an affinity with trees. There is a silver birch which stands at the side of my house, the branches of which greet my bedroom window. I call it my sentinel. On guard through thick and thin for the past 40 years. If anything happened to that tree, I would be felled. I love your poem. I canโ€™t think of anything nicer than taking tea beneath a canopy of green leaves. Through the seasons, ever present. .

Never thought of returning some love to our trees, how ignorant of me!

Don\'t know how I missed this one Bella. I too am a tree hugger, since my younger days when I\'d climb them in my yard. Wonderfully penned Bella. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘

I too feel akin to the trees. They get little credit for forming our houses and warming them as well. They get little credit as life forms but were here long before us and from them get get food as well. A lovely poem friend.

More used to gum trees after all this time. They have their own charm - although if there\'s a space I\'d like to share yours; some species of gum have a habit of dropping a branch without warning, and you have made yours so inviting, Bella.

One, I\'m pretty sure superfluous, note: please get out from under there if thunder and lightning is about. (news here yesterday: three people in hospital after sheltering under a tree during a thunderstorm.)

Already has been highlighted that final stanza Bella, so all I can do is second (or third, or join the queue in endorsing that motion...) But the whole poem engaged and ensured that I got there. Wondrously simple, but greatly admired.

I must confess, upon my first reading, I inadvertently let out an almost silent expletive that I more often write down than ever I actually say put loud .. so for that, I hold my head in shame ..

My visit here this early mane has been a real treat for me Bella on what is possibly going to be our first dry day in ages .. We have had no snow here for years but you took my hand and allowed me to walk alongside you .. and I could see and sense every single thing you described .. (your photo was incredible too) ..

indeed, I thought the whole composition worthy of great merit and you should at the very least enter it into a competition ..

There is only one small thing that
I would challenge you on .. and I know you well enough by now to know, that you know really ..

and that is that it\'s not just the first two stanza\'s that are true is it my friend .. the one at the very end that delivers the coup de grace is also so very true too and no small thing by any means, at all ..

All the very best of All Good Things,

Me :)

A great message again as an allegory and ending so well in the last lines.
\"And as I walked I thought of this
That life is brief you know
A little stain upon the earth
Until itโ€™s time to go\"
