Feels like you\'ve been around here for a lot longer, Tom: a mainstay of commonsense and excellent poetry. I hope this year is just the beginning as you continue to sort the world in your straightforward way.

Ooh! How very beautiful! Charmingly rendered and loaded with details to effect, a haunting poignancy in tow, I love, love, LOVE this! You remind me of how I ended up sonneteering: an 1881 sonnet anthology introduced me to what literature studies in school had only touched on and I both returned to writing poetry and also found my niche. Thank you so very much for sharing!

Poetry has always been wonderful therapy for me Tom, and book shops a source of inspiration. Put the two together and you have a hit. An anniversary to remember. Have a happy Friday.

You have used simple words in this poem,
Very easy to understand and ponder over,
I pray you must write more poems like this,
And give food to our mind , brain and heart !

Isn’t it something when words written by someone who died many years ago can pull you out of the darkest places?

That final stanza,Tom - the merest flick of the tail, is completion at its best. Not sure \'National Poetry Day\' deserves that much attention, but you gave it your all anyway.

Well, well, well. Put the kettle on, this fine, fine puddled, rainy morning cuz I\'m so soaked to the bone by having to traipse out in it I\'ll catch my death of cold. Dang! I do so LOVE this tribute! You\'ve gone and done it. Beautifully rendered with a waltzing poignancy and irresistible appeal, oh but I LOVE IT! Thank you so very much for sharing.

I\'ve been to that restaurant waited for two hours for the food that never came they just brought the bill which said I had been served. When I complained to the manager he said that as a personal favor he would tear up the bill no charge.

That punchline or zuki line pronounced ski is a killer Tom ..
I too have been a lifetime student or kenshi of various martial arts ..
I taught Shorinji Kempo for many years in Northampton & achieved the title Jun Kenshi & 3rd dan ..
I also hold 1st dan in shotokan .. it can be addictive but I now blame the problems I have with my joints on years of kicking & punching etc .. Neville
