Never absolute
Cheeky Missy said:
It is a reflection indeed, and yet it seems most of your postings are likewise reflections.
The beginning couplet is quite the warning. (In S2L2 you mean "vain")
It is a very interesting and thought-provoking meditation.
Yes, I think the best way to maintain lies with our minds, what we believe and follow, whether we are deceived or turn aside from the Truth to something more enticing, whether we can see clearly or not.
The title sets the stage that we never want to be stuck in our ways methinks, not that we don't believe in absolutes.
It is quite the discussion. Fascinating. The usual hopeful conclusion that maybe we can escape our present "class" to higher and that we must learn to truly if possible see others and not be deceived by outward appearances.

Give A Little Love

Very interesting and thought-provoking meditation, more especially so to me, being a girl, hearing the guy's perspective on the situation. La, and I thought it was so easy if it was the "real thing"...but what do I know? Speaking of juggling the puzzle pieces in S3 is a reminder almost that we cannot from now see what exactly the future holds, whatever choices we take, we know not now what will prosper and what will fail. The insecurity is troublesome, yet as you conclude we must remember then to "just live" and seek the Lord God of the Bible and hear what His Word says, trusting in Him with all our hearts. It's an apt reminder in the final lines that we are so prone to ill and readily deceived. An interesting consideration altogether.

Thank you! Still trying to rise above it all. The first stanza is more about the company I sometimes keep (associates/mates), the ones that hold my mind back. Your comments are always helpful.

My Angel

So many fellows like to classify their sweethearts as "angels" and she might nearly fit the above qualifications, only in her beloved's starry eyes. Delightful and beautifully stated.

Very interesting philosophic contemplation....childhood's carefree, reckless ignorance recalled as hemmed in by peer pressure, the speaker desires to rise above the common rabble at last. Alone he thinks more clearly, the first stanza creating the sensation of being at a party and realizing it is killing you with its inanity(?). Beautiful.

Indeed, an excellent example of thinking "aloud!" Fascinating and characteristic contemplation. Believing, what? If in the true Word of God we shall never be disappointed or ashamed, anywhere else we may, you know? I enjoyed it.

INSIDE & OUT ASSESSMENT
Cheeky Missy said:
I love your author's note in particular because it lends perspective on this latest pep talk. Exercise is wonderfully refreshing, if done well, and invigorating, making us feel more invincible sometimes than we did before we began. It has a way of making us feel freer and more able to think clearly, breathe deeply and conquer our world. Therefore this talk stemming from it is all to perfectly understandable. And yet, and yet.
Isn't it, if compared to the Word of God, a grave deceit in ever believing so highly of our little sinful selves? It is not so much that we are average or above average or below, but that if we are God's we are strong in Him. It seems to little me that it is pride which bolsters us with such sermons, and pride goes before destruction, according to God's Word. And yet pride seems perpetually at my side, guiding me ever into destruction, telling me I am so cool and smart and etc. I hope I have not been proud in this lengthy note. Please forgive me if I have said anything amiss.

NBF (NATURAL BORN FIGHTER)
Cheeky Missy said:
It's so delightfully characteristically you! The pep talk for when you're feeling low. The thing is.....the first line of stanza two....breaking free from lies then draws the first stanza into the net to examine....being a natural fighter doesn't mean you'll always be successful and make ends meet, you know? I agree, making better choices does seem to hinge on knowing the truth as opposed to being deceived by lies, which dreams unfortunately frequently are (from experience). I enjoyed it.

Thanks for the comment!! The attitude of the proud? Why so?
I would think more the attitude of the confident. Maybe a little proud but better proud than over-confident of your blessings. Perhaps a way to success eternally with God as my guidance?

La dee dah! Well, and that is the attitude of the proud? Seems so. Very well stated, seems to me. And perhaps a way to success momentarily, but not eternally. Excellently portrayed. Quite fascinating.

DELAYED ANGER
Cheeky Missy said:
Delightfully fascinating as usual, a self-discussion evaluating the inclinations, touching on the fears, imaginings, and assessing all to respond more calmly and reasonably. Leading the reader through the reasoning to provoke a more sensible response as opposed to hasty wrath......the key being an exposition of sorts of the "ten-second" rule, delaying a hasty response in favour of a wiser assessment. Lovely. Rather reminiscent of the Word of God that he that is hasty of spirit exults folly, as well as Let every man be swift to hear, slow to wrath, slow to speak..... My take on it. Told with your characteristic philosophizing. I enjoyed it.

MEANING OR FIENING
Cheeky Missy said:
Very fascinating! Interesting contemplation.....the very real struggle with lust...you depict it admirably. What is "fiening"? I really enjoyed this for how you take the reader down the path wrestling, within himself for/against lust, which only leads to death, when it is finished, according to the Word of God. Well-written, excellent!

MACHINE VS MAN
Cheeky Missy said:
Ah, excellently fitting image....so very chilling...a living machine, which you so perfectly expressed in the first stanza. La, how coldly hard people can be, so calculating and hateful. Your struggle is fascinating and aptly expressed....in a world of relativity. The concluding consideration is interesting. The weaknesses don't make a "man" it seems to wee me, but having them is excellently the answer to the opposing cold machine. Very nicely written reflection. I enjoyed it.

LIFE, OH LIFE
Cheeky Missy said:
Ah, your delightful motivational speeches....! As if the world is ours for the taking, if we would only work to capture the throne we might rule the universe!!! As if the power lies entirely in our hands....not in the Lord's....and where He grants us the ability....to succeed for a moment in time....all thanks to Him. I enjoy your boyishly optimistic motivational speeches with that pinch of realistic salt.
