Quieting stress
sorenbarrett said:

I’ve given the description of stress, illustrated with numerous images and metaphors. Very nicely written it evokes a sense of stimulation and even overstimulation. The last bit leaves me feeling as though the way to resolve stress is to focus upon quieter thoughts and this is one good strategy. It sounds as though it works and it’s useful and anything that is productive is good. Very nice.

Letting go.
Paul Bell said:

They always say when you let go, you get released, yet letting go can be the ultimate struggle.
Probably why humans wrestle themselves into an early grave.

Letting go.
Tristan Robert Lange said:

Friendship, this lands with a gentle strength…the unclenching fingers, the hush of the void, the hum of what’s next. I’ve walked that release myself, and you write it with clarity and compassion. Love it, my friend! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Letting go.

So nicely composed in structure, meter and rhyme a poem that speaks to letting go of emotions, feelings, the past. A realization that what has been held dear has ripened and now must fall from the tree. What with time has ripened now will rot on the stem if not dropped. Very nicely done and a fave

Growing up, I didn\'t have as much emotional intelligence and still lack at times these days. There was an unspoken love that you had to learn and navigate in silence. The poem tells me that we cannot love what we cannot hear. And sometimes the reverse can also be true, that if it\'s all we ever hear but not felt in action it becomes empty sounds that lie to us giving false hopes and assumptions. A very powerful read here. 🕊️🙏

My friend, I’ve lived this…having someone script who you are before you speak, and watching connection die in that silence. You wrote it with a clarity that hits home. Well done, Friendship!🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Your own author\'s note encapsulates this poem\'s meaning. Assuming is a necessary part of life but for fairness requires checking them out with the other person and being open minded enough to reject our version for theirs when corrected. Assumptions build walls of imprisonment that need to fall when discovered false. And yes as stated in the poem changes assumption to understanding when one listens and accepts. A most thought provoking write

Friendship, this is powerful…the “dust within the hand” moment names what fear really is, and I’ve felt that same unraveling of illusion myself. You captured its shadow and its ending in one breath. Stunning! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Each line, each rhyme is perfection. You capture fear in all of its elements, perhaps the basis of life itself. WOW!

A most wonderful description of fear and a deeper understanding of its underlying roots. Poetically put with good rhyme it unravels the knot and cause. It is the last part of the poem that gives it meaning and strength. In the confrontation, in looking under the bed and in the closet that there is no monster but the one in the mind and there is nothing to fear but fear itself. Loved it

Fear, the primal alarm we all have to keep us safe.
Probably over heightened by social media and the guy on the high street with the placard, \'\'THE WORLD IS NIGH\'\'
But with all the senses humans have, I would say fear is the one that will save your life.

Paul Bell said:

Happy Thanksgiving Day. We should have this in Britain.
It\'s a little thank-you for the year\'s efforts and hopefully optimism for the year ahead.
With all the doom and gloom in the world, sometimes the good gets overlooked.

Tristan Robert Lange said:

My friend… you wrote Thanksgiving as transformation itself. The risk…the rebuilding…the choosing to move forward. It’s reflective and bold at the same time. Beautiful work A warm and happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Change
sorenbarrett said:

I love the shift from gratitude for the past to the focus on determination and change for the future and present. It is a celebration of not only what our efforts brought us but what they will bring. A bright look to a new day. Set in good rhyme and flowing meter it speaks of what the past has brought us to be and from that strength to what it offers. A union of past, present and future. A wonderful write and a fave

The Immeasurable Want {Lust}
Paul Bell said:

Must admit, sex did jump out, with the lust for money a close second, and sex coming third fourth and fifth.
I take it lust is a sin in some quarters, but also a human trait.
Now that I know the true meaning, I will change the way I look at the blond girl on the train every morning, though that car showroom that sells sports cars, I could lust all day in there.

A wonderful expose on the word that puts Websters to shame. I love the way the poem gets going picking up speed until the last stanzas where it is racing at a fabulous speed. My favorite stanza is the last that puts the cap on the poem and finishes it with power and force. A word rich in meaning to which we generally limit it to its negative connotations as label it as one of the seven deadly sins. What a shame when it means so much more. The energy of life in every meaning. A most wonderful poem and a fave

Have you ever met anyone who is so shallow ?
Tristan Robert Lange said:

Friendship, this hit deep…you’ve given voice to that hollow ache of surface-level living. It’s honest, cutting, and sorrowful all at once. Just read your leave of absence notice. I am taking it that is new and current as I don\'t remember seeing it before. If so, I will be missing you my friend, and I will be keeping you and your friend in my prayers. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

My friend, this is powerful…not just a poem but a reclamation. You make it clear...hypersensitivity isn’t weakness, it’s identity. I share in that identity, and have been judged by it.That line of strength runs through every verse. Powerful poem, my friend! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Hypersensitivity seen as a trait the same as right or left handed in this poem. We are all different and deserve respect for who we are. It used to be thought that left handed people were evil or slow and forced changing of hands was forced on children. We have since learned that it is a simple reversal form the norm at the motor center of the brain. Hypersensitivity is just another difference in our nature. Well written with very nice rhyme and a good flowing meter
