Let’s just be kind

Your poem depicts for me the despair engrained in the, \"you only live once\", doctrine promoted by certain control-oriented religions. What if life is a continuum, and rather than being \"pushed\" into it we chose to experience it? Just saying!
It hurts me to see the damage done to hope by the insidious doctrine reflected in your write, Avigail. Genuinely sorry if I\'ve offended you. I had to get this off my chest.

An important message for us all, Avigail. Reflects a poem I just completed on the same theme. Well done!

Thanks AVI all of us experience loneliness from time to time and I ~ for one ~ DON\'T LIKE IT (not for long !) The BIBLE teaches that GOD puts the lonely into FAMILIES. So my advice is ~ Find a Family ~ Get married and start Family ~ join MPS ~ We are a Family ! Thanks for teaching ~ your Faithful Pupil BRIAN ~ Hugs @@@

Ego Jail
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

Thanks for the warning AVI ~ I\'m too much of a People\'s Person to ever be trapped in an EGO BUBBLE ~ Working in a College wit students mainly 16 ~ 25 keeps me gregarious. I have noticed that many Men (60+) especially when they retire ~ do go into an ego shell and become very \"self centred\" So it is something I will have to watch for in 2047 ! Happy Hugs ~ BRIAN @@@

And read BETWEEN the lines! Sometimes we learn more by concentrating on these in-between spaces. On what is left out, instead of what is said.
Great thought provoking poem. Well done, Avigail!

The rules in our heads

You are so right, Avigail. We often tend to judge people or events by some outmoded old beliefs instead of with an open heart.

Blind Spots
FredPeyer said:

Abigail, oh sorry, Avigail, you make a good point in this excellent and well rhymed poem. And don\'t forget, eliminating blind spots also keeps you from getting blind sided.

The dilemma of sensitive people
FredPeyer said:

Your poem made me think, Avigail. Isn\'t it strange how sometimes we are so sensitive to another person, and sometimes, even with the same person, totally insensitive, missing the signs that should be recognized.

FredPeyer said:

Avigail, like the 10p before, the 10h is great advice to live by. Not always easy though, when work and life interfere.
And btw, you forgot the 11th h: And live in HAWAII!

It is amazing, I just read Poetic Dan\'s poem where he talks about vibration, and here is yours, Avigail, talking about the same thing.
This 10P poem is amazing. Have to make it a favorite so I can go back and read it again any time I feel my vibrations are low!!!

Wind
FredPeyer said:

Your poem reminds me of the Hawaiian word \'Ha\', which means \'Breath of Life\' or \'Spirit\'.
It is also interesting that when a spirit enters room it is associated with a breeze flowing through the room.
Like your poem very much!

They say he lost his mind
FredPeyer said:

Avigail, I am glad you wrote about this and are asking some very valid questions. The most scary aspect in my opinion is that one has to ask oneself if that friendly neighbor next door could turn into such a monster. What turns a so-called \'normal\' human being into a killer? Are there signs? How can something like the Vegas shooting be prevented? Can it really? Your few questions open up a pandora\'s box of questions, most of them without answers.

\"most evolved animal\"? ... some porpoises or elephants might take issue with that statement, and I wouldn\'t blame them.
The dark end of the spectrum exists, and we all get to explore it from lifetime to lifetime. Yeah, by societies\' standards he was just nuts.
Your poem is well expressed, Avigail!

Music of life
FredPeyer said:

Great questions, Avigail!
But too many, and how would I know?
How does one determine one\'s frequency, pitch, rythm, or note?
Am serious here, not trying to be funny! I really do not know.

chasing a dream
FredPeyer said:

Avigail, you touched on something that I questioned many times and that gets me kind of upset sometimes. Right after I wake up I have a dream in my head, but unless I write it down right away, after a little while it is gone.
Sometimes the dreams are totally weird, sometimes touching on reality. You bring up quite a few interesting aspects re spirits, sub-consious, etc. Makes me want to study the science of dreams a little bit to at least get some basic answers. But where to take the time for that? Life is busy enough without having to worry about dreams. :-)

chasing a dream
UnspokenVoice92 said:

I’ve experience a strange phenomenon where I would dream and understand something in a dream that I have never heard of in reality. Yet for some reason in the dream I understand it completely. Once I awake I’m amazed and lost in though from it. I love this... great selection.

Sound advice, Avigail! But there are days when I think my higher self is looking down on me, saying to itself \'why bother\', he doesn\'t listen anway! :-)

Figuring out…
FredPeyer said:

Don\'t know why exactly, Avigail, but the following poem by Charles Bukowski (one of my favorite authors) came to mind after reading your excellent poem:

We\'re all going to die.
All of us, what a circus!
That alone should make
us love each other
but it doesn\'t.
We are terrorized and
flattened by trivialities.
We are eaten up by
Nothing

The sad thing about this interaction
FredPeyer said:

Well written and to the point, Avigail! When we meet somebody, at first it looks like it will turn out great, then we find some cracks, or maybe even something missing in the other person. It might be small, but could be a complete turn-off, a game breaker. Life is full of choices and we don\'t always know which one is the right one, or what felt right was wrong and visa versa. At these moments I try to listen to my (considerable) gut! :-)
