To me, understanding is experiencing, which is the point to these many lives. Thanks for this thought-provoking poem, Avigail!

People working together for one aim is a great idea but there are always one or two who want more and they create disharmony. Good write.

I agree with you Avi, look at ants or bees, they could not function individually. While some decisions made by committee don\'t work, others do need your \'multi-mind\'. As the saying goes...if we put our heads together...and then pull in the same direction, maybe, just maybe, this could be a better place. As far as writing poems is concerned though, one better do it alone.
I do like your poem.

\"Are we doomed to blind spots of perception?\" A key question pertaining to why we are here at all. Another question: Is what we perceive even real, or but an illusion we are creating as we evolve along together? Forgive the tangent, I\'m feeling reflective. A fine contribution this, avaigail!

Thanks Avigail, this is some really good advise cloaked into a nice poem. Too often we wait for something to happen instead of making it happen.

Love it Avigail! You touched on a fundamental truth. These lowly connectors hold our world and life together, and if it doesn\'t work, bring on the duct tape!

Thanks AVI for a lovely \"thought poem\" which is profoundly simple. As a Member of MPS I\'m looking for LIFE to connect with other like minded Humans (Yin & Yang) and connect and exchange ideas on this and that ! Some just want to chat ~ some want advice on X Y & Z but mostly poetry ~ some just want a friend or a shoulder to cry on ! We connect linearly (like FOOD CHAIN !) and cross-link (like a FOOD WEB). Our connection is mainly cerebral (which is such a blessing) and we can FILOSOFISE TOGETHER and it\'s real cool when we ring each others BELLS ~ love to be in your MIND and in your HEART ~ we always CONNECT ~ Love & Hugs BRIAN the CONNECTOR XOX

Avigail, love your poem!!!!
I actually did write a poem called \"Morning Coffee\" back in March this year. The second and third stanzas go like this:

Others like me remain in
a semi catatonic state
Cannot greet a new day
Without their elixir of life

Dragging myself slowly
From bedroom to kitchen
One eye still closed
The other barely open

What I did is I pampered myself by buying a JURA, fully automatic coffee machine. You fill in water on one side, put in the coffee beans on the other side. Then in the morning all I have to do is press a button (you program the machine initially to how much coffee you want, regular or strong, coffee or expresso, how many oz, etc.), and the machine does the rest. It grinds the beans, heats the water, pumps it through to make an excellent European style coffee, and finally cleans itself. Once in a while you have to empty the grounds. PERFECT COFFEE EVERY TIME, EVEN WITH EYES CLOSED.

Avigail, your title says it all, and you are absolutely right. There is a dormant seed in all of us and in my opinion every one of us is creative.
Now in your opinion and from your experience, are there ways to \"create\" the right conditions?

I\'d never cared for poetry, never attempted to write a poem, until suddenly, the year was 2005, my muse got my attention. I simply had to go within and the poetry flowed. Your poem describes the process beautifully! Thanks for posting it, Avigail.

The decisions I made
Nicholas Browning said:

The path we take is definitely one of many. That\'s true. I have a saying, \"Never give up silver for a chance to find gold.\" Silver is rare, gold is even rarer. If you have silver, keep it. Polish it. Maybe some day it\'ll shine like gold does. Thanks for sharing, lovely work.

The decisions I made
Louis Gibbs said:

I share your perspective on choosing \'this way or that\' and how different might our lives have been. It is an interesting exercise, but in the end matters little I believe. We experience what we are here to experience, the particular path is irrelevant. I enjoyed your fine poem a lot!

The decisions I made
FredPeyer said:

Avigail your excellent poem touched a string in me. You are rightly saying that taking this or that branch will lead in a new direction in life. The life tree analogy is so fitting. I used to say it is the little decisions in life that make us change direction.
Case in point: Many years ago in Montreal my friends wanted to go out, I wanted to stay home, but was persuaded to go with them. That is when I met the girl that would become my wife. One little decision!
Love your writing and am looking forward to more!

How is your energy today?
FredPeyer said:

Avigail,
at my age, when I get up in the morning and I am still breathing, I know I have a great day, full of energy, full of love, full of gratitude for being alive. The older I get the more I realize that all the little problems don\'t matter. Sure there are days where I am down a bit, but never depressed. Life is just too short for that.

dilemma
FredPeyer said:

Do as I say, not as I do!
I for one don\'t see any dilemma. First of all, a muffin does have healthy ingredients (don\'t argue, my wife runs a small bakery!).
Second, I saw in your answer to Brian that your husband made it. Therefore it qualifies as comfort food and that makes it healthy.

I liked this little fun poem!
