Well written, Avigail. While it is sad to see an uprooted tree, it is all part of nature\'s birth, destruction, re-birth cycle.

Thanks fro this AVI ~ I cried with you ! It is devastating when GAIA fights back castigating the entire Human Race for our Profligation and Desecration of NATURE Ignorami like TRUMP say why all the fuss over ONE DEGREE 15C TO 16C ? But it DOES make a big DIFFERENCE and IRMA and Her Siblings are the result ! Sow pollution and reap a WHIRLWIND ! Thanks for sharing HUGS & KISSES ~ LOVE BRIAN XOX

Its really refreshing to hear you like writing checks. I hope you have a pen where the 0\'s just seem to roll off it so easily (like the old papermate ad). Ten thousand US dollars will suit me just now. My handwriting used to be lovely but now its a scrawl and i mess up on certain letters too often..... the world changes doesn\'t it. Nice writing.

Avigail, I completely agree with your poem, but as a leftie who was forced to write with my write hand, even though I can write with both now, I do prefer the computer.

Thanks you AVI ~ Even though I am young enough to be your PUPIL I was born in the last Century and old enough to remember (in the 1990\'s) real pens (fountain & nib pens) and real ink ~ we stoped using slates in UK Schools after WW1 (1920\'s) I have even used a QUILL PEN in a Stately home of England ! I always write out my MPS Poems in pen & ink (or gel pen or biro) in MANU (hand) SCRIPT (writing) so there are books with my original and amended MS ~ before the perfect version appears in MPS from the PC (UGH). My MS\'s are me in my own handwriting which would tell the discerning reader so much more than my spell checked ~ grammar checked and sterilised odes that appear on MPS ! In short ~ I agree with you ! Love & Hugs ~ You Pupil and Poetic Child ~ BRIAN XOX

Indeed, in this vast universe we are but a tiny speck, an ant as you say. Reflective poem. I believe that this phenomenon is a natural happening following the laws of the universe. So I don\'t worry, I just live and write poems for us. Like yours...

Thanks AVI for another important lesson ! I always paid ATTENTION at School and College (as did most of my fellow Pupils ! It is true in the big things in life ~ like learning to drive ~ but also in every conversation we should always pay close attention to what OTHERS are saying. what do you do in the 20%?
myself and me said:

Oh, I have 20% to handle, that is too much for me. I wish I have zero percent, so that I could goof around, and blame the Creator for all the mistake.
Thank you for remind me I might still have 10% left to deal with.

FredPeyer said:

Avigail, you know I am usually 100% behind your writing. With this one I understand the question (don\'t know the answer yet!), but don\'t get the point of the cancer (non-cancer) story. Is it co-incidence? Bad luck? He did not jump in after his niece because he WANTED to drown!
You are right, that a minor choice can have huge results. I made a minor choice of going out with my friends, met a girl, she became my wife, changed my life completely!

Nicholas Browning said:

That\'s life\'s big and glorious mystery. No one really knows what you do in the 20%. You just figure it out as you go. Every time I think about it I get a headache, and no answers. Mind boggling thought. Thanks for this. Well said.

FredPeyer said:

Very thought provoking writing here, Avigail. How do we fill the gaps? Probability is one way, based on similar (compatible?) experiences. Or sometimes we just need to take that leap of faith.

Mind how you fill the gap
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

MIND THE GAP ~ This is the mantra on the London Tube System ~ because when passengers fall between the trains & the platform it\'s messy and upsets the schedule ! There are gaps in all \"man made systems\" and Robots (Librarians) are the type of genre who try to fill them. Mendeleev ~ who designed the MODERN PERIODIC TABLE of elements - believed in the exactness of the Table and left GAPS for elements yet to be discovered and even predicted the chemical and physical properties of the yet undiscovered elements ~ Only geneii do that ! The element below BARIUM (No. 56) he called ekaBARIUM and left a gap for it. When the Curies isolated RADIUM (No. 88) in the early 1900\'s it was indeed ekaBARIUM and in 1906 Mendeleev travelled from Moscow to Paris to thank the Curies for filling the gap, They also isolated POLONIUM (No. 84) which Mendeleev had named ekaTELLURIUM ! Other Scientists failed to develop an accurate Periodic Table because ~ THY REUSED TO LEAVE GAPS ~ believing that all the element had been discovered ! Because I am disciple of Mendeleev (as well as YOU) I always leave GAPS ! thanks for caring and sharing ~ LOVE & HUGS ~ Best Boy BRIAN XOX

Good Evening Avi ~ Most Countries are polarized politically into LEFT (Socialism) RIGHT (Conservatism) there is and always a PARTY that seeks to hog the Middle Ground ! It is when Parties move too far to the LEFT or RIGHT that the populace says enough is enough and it ends in REVOLUTION ! Outside forces like N Korea can also disturb the equilibrium ! There is a ripple of unrest GLOBALLY ~ let us pray that it does not become a FLOOD ~ Love & Hugs BRIAN XOX

Avigail, your excellent writing confirms the \"power corrupts\" expression. People have woken up in the past and will wake up in the future, just look at the French Revolution, what is happening in the Middle East, etc. A very true and meaningful write!
