Great idea for a poem, Augustus. I have a friend who is going to try one of those match sites. She is very nervous about it, but feels it may be a better choice then just going to bars. I guess the vetting process is pretty tough. She seems happy so far with her results.

Thoughtful and poignant in its message. We have to live and we must be wise in how we live and let others live.

I can visualize the hypocrite sitting and enjoying the fire. Makes me think of the (acid rain) detrimental-impact, Electric-Car argument, about the emmissions from the power plants that generate the electricity to charge the electric-car batteries.

Cancer is such a big worry and there are so many forms - yes our diet and life styles are questionable as your great poem indicates.

I like this one, (the first which I read of your set). It\'s nice to see meaningful words used to lead the flow of thought and not just a \"wordsmith\" trying to impress.

Augustus, the poem is beautiful, well written. I too have a son who has drifted away and has said some cruel things and strangely I feel guilty. Projectbeing is spot on, if we can love without expectation that can be the most rewarding love. This has been a bittersweet holiday season for me also. I lost a 27 year old grandson on Thanksgiving Day to drugs. We weren\'t especially close but now I wish we had been. Life is so damn fragile and short. Hang in there old boy.

Sweet read. I felt a little rejected by my son over the holidays. I remember telling my self once that the greatest thing you\'ll ever learn is to love even when love is not returned. I hope this helps, stay strong, you are love itself

Brilliantly written with a depth of meaning that is hiding in the shadows of the poem, your son. writing poetry is an art form that creates so many stories that we can all learn from and cherish those words if need be. your poem here is one of those important pieces of work. keep your chin up and I hope you and your son rejoice in getting together at some point.
