An outsider looking in, with a desire for what the other has, as it appears the grass is greener. That is what I feel. Sorry the days were dreary.

I\'m honored, A. I felt like I was back in my grandparents house listening
to the timeless messages they always gave me.

Truth in every stanza with a superb finish!

Thanks so much.

Awesome, Augustus... this poem is a reflection of our nation. I enjoyed it very much and it made me think of our current social situation. We must do better.

i adore this poem! i loved living in the country in vermont. and my parents are from rural idaho ~ so pretty. your words bring remembrances of the country life, yet there is humor there interlaced with a true lesson to us all about good country people. nicely rendered!

Excellent job Augustus. So true! The pace is so much more human in the mid-west and west. Here in the Northeast most everyone is in such a hurry and self-absorbed.

Your poem took me away to a beautiful place. Though i live near a beach, it is winter. It is a nice place to cherish and walk along the coastline with my husband. Thanks for taking me there in my mind!

Really cool Augustus. My favorite place is being on the beach in the summer. And, I have sailed in the past and have such respect for the power of the wind and sea. Great job on the poem.

I am impressed! I do not think of myself as someone who can stand for a while and gaze at a painting. I love Norman Rockwell, so I guess that says something about me. I appreciate colors in paintings that really bring out sunshine or darkness and am always amazed by the talent. It is up to to each individual to interpret what they are looking at and either to like it or not. Great point Augustus.
