Your words in these haikus/senryus have a tremendous impact on the reader. I also love your accompanying artwork as it speaks to your wonderful talent. Great job, Michael.

Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas.

FI ! UNCLE MICHAEL ~ I had you clssified as Betjemannesque Purist. I teach Seniors \"The Art of Poetry\" and the diference betweem H (Nature) & S (Human Nature & Inanimate) ! Also I insist (in the classroom !) on 3 lines & 575 syllables. No. 4 is (6 7 5) and No. 5 (5 8 5) what in liverpool we called ZUMOSENRYU. If you were in my Class ~ I would mark you 8 / 10 ~ OK. My fave is No. 1 which is the only HAIKU ~ the rest (in my book) are SENRYU ! I have posted a Philosophical Senryu (A Confusryu) today please check ! Love the PINGUS ~ I print & blow them up for my niece (4) who is a Penguinophile ! CARTOONS ~ sans mots ~ are very good for kids to strech their imagination. Fine Haikus or Senryus or Wotsits M. I\'m busy fussing about metres and syllables!
I dunno if I\'m on foot or horse-back. Or is it: Horse or foot-back?

There are some intriguing verses there Michael, I like them all.

Strangely whether it is haiku, senryu or not is strangely one of the things that I bother about so here goes

1 - haiku
2 - neither
3 - senryu
4 - senryu
5 - is a 5,8,5

to get over this problem where a 5,7,5 is neither I have used the term goldiku.

IN FRAMES OF ANTIQUE GOLD
Neville said:

My immediate reaction is that you may be writing about your own art.. and may be imagining it set and mounted within a golden frame.. I may be miles off mark but hey....

\"It was mine Art,
When I arrived and heard thee, that made gape
The pine and let thee out.\"....

and so say all of us.. N

Michael,

I agree, this write is a “tad enigmatic”! As I’m reading and read the words “Prospero’s wand”, it immediately made me think of the Tempest! I can’t get that play’s message out of my mind!
I need to reread it a few times and come back to you with a comment.

Love the painting!

GOOD MORNING UNCLE MIKE : Very oriental Picture an area I am exploring a bit while in NZ ! You are waxing lyrical ! I am a Romantic : one of brother Corben\'s \"Stupid (Love besotted) Women !\" I interpret your enigmatic Ode as : Someone in LOVE : sliding deeper & deeper into a relationship without counting the cost ! My interpretations of Romance are always encapsulated in a \"Frame of Antique Gold\" !
