Hauntingly tragic but important and inspiring nonetheless. I\'m forever a fan of your ability to conjure emotion with so few words. It\'s good to be back and see poems such as these, especially from you.

Beautiful imagery, both in your word picture visual art work.
There is a mellowness about them that makes me think of the images stirred by Ode To Autumn.
Winter becomes beautiful, gentle, inevitable and its end springs hope and life

A fine write again Michael. You enjoying those extra minutes of lighter evenings now? You spending them all at once?
I remember that extra second we had one year. I did a million things in that one second. ooh!

Michael,
A few words certainly deliver a huge message! A fine write which I enjoyed reading!
Love the painting. It reminds me of people walking on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, N.J., approaching the casino at the end of the boardwalk!

Thanks UNCLE MICHAEL ~ I have said elsewhwere that a 7 line Poem is perfection ! The only proviso is the skill to encompass ones subject in a SON (Half a SONNET !). You have done that ! It is complemented (in a subtle way) by the painting.
Thanks for sharing ~ Love & Blessings ~

A fine write and pic M. I could be shorter (am I 7 foot tall?). In me poems I mean, but I tend to go on a bit at times.
Some old hymns went on for 30 verses. The longest hymn has 158 or so verses. There\'s a thought. *Gets out pencil to write.....*

IN AMERICA THEY HAVE \"THE OLDE COUNTRY STORE\" With a row of Rockers (Chairs !) outside for ones use ! Inside potatoes etc are served from sack (with a cat sitting on top a la GILES !) and \"loose\" sugar is weighed into paper bags and butter & cheese from big slabs was wrapped in \"grease-proof\" paper. There is NO HELP=YOURSELF SERVICE ~ It all takes longer but is much more satisfying and not a PLASTIC (naughty word !) BAG for miles. My Parents & of course My Grandparents well remember such shops in the UK as I am sure you do. Sweets in big jars ~ loose tea in a chest and ham & bacon sliced to order ! The Brave New World of SUPA & HYPERMARKETS is the DEATH of a CIVIL & CIVILISED WORLD ! Thanks for caring ~ BRIAN

A fine write Michael. lol. We gotta negotiate shopping trolleys too. they can\'t all be blamed on wonky wheels. Some people can\'t drive them, let alone a drive a car.
Maybe I was in a good mood shopping, when that happened one day - trolley jams. I thought to myself \'You love it really, don\'t ya?!\'
