Such great times Fay, I have eaten many a windfall apple in my life and when we were kids I even went scrumping! LOL

Your poetry ofttimes evokes nostalgia, Fay. This piece is one such.
My craving for a Cox\'s Orange Pippin has just awoken once more, so if you could stand under the tree and catch one as it drops to save it from the worms, then throw it in my direction, gratitude shall forever live in my heart....

You\'ve hit a truly soft spot in my heart with this one. I live for fall, when apples are ripe. We have an orchard near by, and the first day they\'re open for picking, I\'m there when the gate opens. If if I\'m lucky I\'m the only one there for a while, wandering from tree to tree, picking the best one from each, munching on one as I go, the smell of fermenting apples that have fallen to the ground. A homegrown apple each day, pies, cobblers, until they\'re gone, and I begin the wait all over again. Don\'t mean to go on and on, but I love what this poem kindles in me, thank you .

(yeah, a while back
I used to go
with a group of friends
to work on farms over a day
to help gather their harvest
and we\'d get paid
with a few boxes of what we helped
pick, such a fun way
to spend time with your close ones
and enjoy, summer\'s
fruits..
literally!)
lol
this is a lovely read, dear Fay
thank you!

This poem is just breathtaking to me. You possess an intrinsic gift of expression that I marvel at. You lovingly finesse words into being, and they take on a life of their own. This is a beautiful piece of verse, truly loved.

Stop boasting, Fay - I\'m getting very envious....... 😊

A standout example of structure and controlled form - I hesitate to ask, but how much effort did that take?
Great stuff.

You\'ve written beautifully of the relationship between dog, or should I say friend, and owner. A walk becomes so much more.

Reasons
orchidee said:

Yes, really beneficial and for companionship. I saw someone walking a cat on a lead! Not the same as walking a dog, as cat laid down and decided to have a wash. Owner had to wait until cat had finished - or carry the cat!
