I believe that it is human nature to see one\'s past through rose colored glasses and not through reality\'s lens. It is a matter of self-preservation.
Lots to like in this poem and I think you said it quite true with, \"Fate awaits for scribes who, fancy encased, can re-invent times before.\" Nice work Fay. - Phil A.

The use of perfume gives a strong nostalgic sense ❤️We remember some events by their scents. Love it!

All too true how we mentally tailor the past into a more palateable version than reality. May be it\'s a part of being positive minded for me, choosing to hold onto the good bits and let the not so good and bloody awful bits fall away. Well I think i prefer the rose tinted version which I live with. Lets me think I\'ve enjoyed myself.

Ah yes the beauty of that single rose from todays suitor and..... she was lost to its wanton ways having first felt it\'s prick.
A fine ending to the day once the currys digested.

Creating the right romantic mood and finding a suitable venue is I imagine (because I am so out of touch) quite a challenge these days and after lockdown who the heck can afford to dine out somewhere posh.
Ah but I have my memories which your poem brings slinking back. Those actual romantic times are truly a treasure and long may they be sought and found for all future generations to hold high in their cherished memories.

I met a gal, but rather ruined things.
In the middle of saying sweet nothings, as this couple may be, I said \'Oh no, I forgot to buy me new long johns before the sale ends!\' heehee.

Frogspawn at school = that tapioca stuff! Maybe an age-related thing, depending on when we were at school?

A creative poem of nature ❤️ Just brought to my memory that time when I recited a poem about tadpoles in elementary school. Thank you for this beautiful piece of work!

I remember as a schoolboy how someone would bring in a wodge of frogspawn and teacer would find an aquarium where it was plonked and over the weeks we watched the hatching tadpoles turn into tiny little frogs. Wonderful.
There was a pond in a field along the lane where we used to watch and catch common and crested newts amid the frogs. I suppose the newts dined upon the tadpoles but we never gave that sort of thing a second thought.
Isn\'t it great when poetry spurs memories. Thank you Fay.

Oh, the season brings, bird songs and flowerings. Oh, I must be poeticizing. What a lovely capture of a fresh Spring day as seen through a window. \"while sunlight races to split open more\" is a great phrase. Your \"wakening\" has made my day. Loved it.- Phil A.
