Forego Grudges.
Bella Shepard said:

Listening to this beautiful song as I read your beautiful words is prayer most appropriate for this Sunday morning. May we take it to heart and live it each day. You are truly inspired my dear friend. It is a favorite in every sense of the word, touching the heart and soul.

I detest others who give me advice.
But I will make an exception for you;
Just because this lot is so very good,
And it just happens to be succinct too.

Doh! A shop round here is not always not open on its proper times.
I\'ve complained again. People have to go to a similar shop on opposite side of precinct.
Dunno about sold out - the shop don\'t even open for its proper times. I rarely go there now anyway. A surly shop assistant too - a grunter!

Eton Mess British? I had no idea:
Should I remember this, or let it go?
For me it could have come from Tanzania.
Many thanks then Sir, for letting me know.

You cannot assume that everyone knows these things...Ok I\'m the only one who didn\'t; Prof Google soon put me right..LOL

PS: if there\'s one thing I do miss about England is a good old Pub and a pint of Director\'s.

Sounds just fine Andy. I must admit that I too, listen to music as I compose. \"Inspiration for free,\" I call it. Of course, \"Love\" plays a big part of
my life as well. A very relatable piece of poetry. Thank you. - Phil A.

Your discipline is enviable. I am a scatter-brain no discipline at all.

‘Early to bed, early to rise..”
Andy, I think you have cracked it.
Everything there that you advise
Should be hung on my wall and backlit.

I go to bed at irregular hours (late as 1.30) and wake up irregularly (6am – 9.30).

That\'s just the best! Pristine sounds of music in the backdrop and words vocalising in the foreground. Philip Glass brought me back even to \"Out of Africa\" wherein Meryl Streep would read her lines while the music played. Meditation at its best, this. Thanks Andy!

Stepping Stones.
Bella Shepard said:

My dear friend, such wonderful words. You have summed up our human experience in the most profound and beautiful verse. I also love the video that is the perfect accompaniment to the poem. \"Send in the clowns\" is one of my favorites, as is Judy Collins.

Whole life is a learning experience;
Mistakes should certainly be stepping stones -
Anything other defies common sense:
Ignore and you wade in dangerous zones.

There must be a designated booth somewhere like the cloakrooms with their valets and attendants to take these mistakes away or some railway lockers to relieve our aching backs. But truly, a converter to make them stepping stones that\'s an ever radder idea!

What Abuse?
Neville said:

I quite agree but I am also reminded of what Socrates said around circa 470 BC -

\'The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households.\'

And so it seems, somethings never change ...................... Neville

What Abuse?
Doggerel Dave said:

Now I have a funny presentiment
That you ain’t going to like wot I say:
Andy please give up on your sad lament –
Societal pressures win the day.

Yes, parents make you what you are, no argument – I am my father in many ways. But also in many ways life is harder than it was then. The mores and norms of society change; Things weren’t brilliant then either – people’s roles were much more restricted, most people were poorer than today, at least where I live….and so on.
Take very good care of yourself, Andy

What Abuse?
John Prophet said:

Unfortunately it’s not the fault of the young we’re in such a state. They were born as we were. It’s the parents and society that’s warped the generation. IMHO

What Abuse?
Fay Slimm. said:

My complete agreement Andy with your verse on today\'s view of Abuse - - and put so precisely this question you raise at the end of your reflection on what it meant a few years back - parents were supposed to discipline growing children - - what is this present system coming to I wonder.
