Do You Tread the New Path?
Laura🌻 said:

Andy,

A great read to remind us that the road we travel can be a rocky one! Here’s a quote by Mehmet Murat ildan that I refer to when I feel overwhelmed by what is happening around me.

β€œThe road to happiness has never been a straight one, and yet, it is the only road worth traveling, no matter how curvy or rocky it is.”

I hope your friend’s choice will bring her the happiness she deserves.

P.S.-Happy Father’s Day!🎈

I hope you are away enjoying a change of scenery.
Yes, we should take advantage of the changing circumstances in our lives. There is plenty of the good and wholesome out there for us.

ANGELA HERE - Thanks for sharing UNCLE ANDY. Love the pathos in Ellas Lyric :

They*re writing songs of love - but not for me
A lucky star*s above - but not for me
With love to lead the way I*ve found more clouds of gray
Than any Russian play could guarantee .........................
I guess he*s not for me ............................
And there*s nought I guess - he*s not for me !

This reflects my experiences so often in the past - before I me!t Brian. I am so so glad I waited for the Proverbial Mister Right ! When we decided to get ENGAGED (a first for both of us @ 28 & 33) and get married a few Months ago - these were very big decisions & life changers I had never cohabited with a MAN. So far - so good but (as you know) there has to be an equilibrium of GIVE & TAKE ! Smokey has been a great Blessing and we lovei t when he cuddles up (equally) between us. *Home is where the CAT is* and any probs we may have melt away ! He purrs louder when we stroke Him together ! Being MARRIED is a wonderful revelation for both of us and as Mamma Cass said *Our Love is growing - deeper - warmer - wilder - every Day* AMEN !

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours & the Croquet Club !
Love Angela & Brian & Smokey πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’›

Good write Gold. I was stopped by a huge puddle on a ramble. I had not tried a nearby track. It just happened to be an alternative route, which missed the impassable puddle!

A wonderful entry Andy. I\'m thankful to still have Sharon in my life even though I\'ve not seen her in 49 years. I know some don\'t understand why I hold on to her as I do. Even I have to wonder as to why, but I do I guess because its all I can do.
Music, poetry and croquet.
Go for it Andy!

Bon Matin Notre Oncle ANDY - Thanks for sharing CHRIS BOTTI Very soothing for a confused Thursday Morning Poetrywise. Yesterday FAY was imploring some of us to embrace *FREE VERSE* as you always do ! My riposte is THE PATH NOT TAKEN (Touch of Frost !) sans Rhyme but replete with Rhythm & Reason. Perhaps a lttle too *concrete* for Fay ? Love you Poem because it assures us us tht despite great tragedy & loss - Life can *go on* positively and we still enjoy X Y & Z PLEASURES OLD & NEW ! MPS is very proactive and together with SMOKIE keeps me SANE during LOCKDOWN ! Angela sends her LOVE !

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours

Andy,

A great question you’ve posed in the author’s comment section.

What is in MY life?
Too many things at the moment!
Some are pleasant...
some are not;
some are complicated...
some are not;
some are painful...
some are not;
but all in all life goes on.

As my mom would say, β€œHardships are like lemons; take those lemons
and make your lemonade;
let nothing go to waste!”
(A loose translation from her Italian words.)

A great choice of music to complement your poem! I enjoyed both; the read and the music. Cinema Paradiso is one of my Italian favorites.

Thank you for sharing.

Laura

GUT MITWOCH UNCLE ANDY ~ Brian Here (Angela on the Front Line - Pray for her !) thanks for the VIDEO ~ Where would we be without OPERA ? !

A FURTIVE TEAR ~ Thats how most of us feel about COVID 19 ( despite a minor BIOCHEMICAL breakthrough with STERIOD) if we*re honest !

I was uplifted by your Poem. COVID 19 seems to be targetting H. Sapiens (Man of Wisdom ?) and not Flora & Fauna in general. Is this GHIA fighting back against our distain for the Environment !

Still - as your elegant EULOGY so aptly states *Nature is always there 24/7 - In Englands Green & Pleasant Land - for us to enjoy* ~ NIL DESPERANDUM ET CARPE DIEM ~ AMEN !

BLESSINGS & Peace to You & Yours

Can\'t you hear what those birds are saying to you in their song? \"Gerroff our bloody canvas with yer size eleven boots\" or something similar.

Yes, it\'s wonderful to have the time, which is afforded to us later in life, to appreciate how beautiful this world around us can be. Mind you, it might be a totally different appreciation of our surroundings were we in the midst of a jungle where every other life form regards you as a meal or threat.
