Youngsters never cease to amaze me - a friend called at my studio and her young son (7 years old) said he loved one of my abstracts so I got it framed and gave it to him as a present. He then insisted without any prompting that he should give me a present in return. He went to get a box of small polished stones and gem rocks and insisted I chose one. I chose a small polished stone and his face lit up when he gave it to me. That little gift means so much to me and I\'ll always treasure it. What with Gnome Enid I\'m starting quite a collection of bits and pieces. Fine write Andy.

Good write Gold. Any fogies in 1066?
Anything on 1066 in the Ashmolean? I forget. Not visited that many times.

You know Andy
I am always impressed by the youth and their appreciation for ALL types of music and arts
Much more open than people think what a choice they have mind you I often wish I were discovering my musical hero\'s all over again... Imagine just coming across Bob Dylan\'s Blonde on Blonde in a record shop all over again
Great write

In the twilight of ones time, we wonder about the path taken. I had written in \"It Feels Like....\" how much longer must we endure.
Your ending stanza is so astute, that\'s our hope.

I think we all end up on different paths - the way ahead is only conjecture but we should embrace it - when there is nothing to look forward to life is at an end. Did you come across a fork?lol

Thanks UNCLE ANDY ~ Im just perusing MPS in my lunch hour (1 - 2pm) Angela is (I hope !) safe in her Antipodean bed (1:45am Wednesday !) I love every jot & tittle of this presentation ! Hippos have a delightful SHAPE & 3D SYMMETRY ~ beloved of woodcarvers, A while back Angela & I where at an AFRICAN WEDDING and our names where clipped in White Metal small HIPPOS which we kept ! Wooden Hippos were on Sale for African Education for £25 ~ we bought one (similar to Yours) which I have in my Flat ready to take *Pride of Place* in *Our House* ! They sold over 100 all locally carved in Africa ! £2500 + to build a New Science & Technology Block ! Angela & I have covenanted for the new Biology Lab ! The Bride African & Groom (UK) both teach in Ghana !
FLANDERS & SWAN ~ Genii of the Edwardian ~Georgian Age spilling over into the ELIZABETHAN !
Great Poem ~ Great Music ~ Flawless Performance ameliorated by a Chorus in RUSSIAN bearing out what I have said in todays SONNET ! We have forgotten how to be Seriously Silly and though they are largely before my TIME (by the time I was 18 it was already too late ~ 2001 !) I really enjoy them ! F & S ~ Morecombe & Wise ~ The Goons ~ Ken Dodd ~ Arthur Asky ~ Less Dawson ~ John Betjeman etc etc ~ Gone but not forgotten. They were Children of their time and we shall never see their like ever AGAIN. Thank GOD for DVD\'s ~ AMEN !

Sadly tha credit crunch scuppered my retirement finances and i have to work for as long as my body will endure. Already my knees and back are complaining and i fear the time to take a long rest from work is close.
I have a different outlook on work though. Since my late twenties i have been self employed and chose my hours. Chose to work my bank holidays and take my days away when all others were at work. Working in peoples homes i befriended many and was delighted to be reaquainted years later when my services were required again.
I shall miss not working in several ways.

Ah yes, cloud formations on a beautiful clear day! those billowy cumulus types that shape-shift as they flow across the blue skies. A welcome treat on fine spring day and often a catalyst for poetic creation. Kind of twilight zone getting Australia and New Zealand in succession. Thanks for this refreshing glimpse of a mind and nature at work together . - Phil A.
