A welcome and touching tribute to the great talent of Ken Dodd whose memory will always live on in the hearts and gratitude of his countless fans - Ken was a tonic for many decades and a fine example of what makes good humour. Thank you Goldie for these needed words of Good-bye to Ken.

I wanted to add - and not just in tribute-type poems like this one - that you have a way to affect my emotions. I often shed a tear or two at times reading your poems (not tears of boredom. lol).

A fine write Gold. Even if when he was alive, some savaged him: Did he pay those taxes?! Yet a true comedian, not like smut and filth of some of today\'s \'so-called\' comedians. What comedy shows have we today? I still see worthwhile repeats from 1970\'s: On The Buses, George and Mildred, etc.

Gold,
I accidentally deleted

Here they are again!

A beautiful homage to the
man from Knotty Ash who
brought you laughter and
enjoyment!
I especially liked the line...
‘Thank you, I wanted to
know the time’.
That is a funny one!
I enjoyed the video very
much! I especially liked,
“Let’s forgive and forget
Turn our tears of regret
Once more...
To tears of happiness “
May he Rest In Peace!

Great tribute to one of the funniest comedians of all time - simple humour, no vulgarity - I recall his 5 hour shows which went by in a flash and left me with my sides aching - he will be so missed.

I loved watching \'Dave Allen\' as a younger chap, back then. Brilliant and clever comedian, and a great piece by you

This is absolutely true!!! Why do the good times go so quickly - and the bad stay sooooooooo long! But looking backwards they all seem to have gone in a flash..... we need Einstein to explain this to us.......oh my goodness your comedian made me laugh.........

The ,speed of the Passage of TIME is in the Mind of the beholder ! In the rainy Q outside the Theatre ~ one hour is an eternity ~ Inside the Theatre (in Row Q) an hour evaporates ! I can only repeat the Mantra \"Carpe Diem\" because \"Tempus Fugit !\" Thanks for making us think and Dave Allen ~ better than Victor Borg ~ Both could make the Sublime ridiculous ! Thanks BRIAN PS I agree totally about the RUGBY it has confirmed my FRANCOPHOBIA ! B !

Gold,
A veritable tech explosion in progress! I have to say that I do need my iPhone. My one and only communication device! Of course, for my children it’s a different story! However, there are some rules they have to abide by when we’re together! Never when we’re eating or walking in the street!

this is all too common these days-sadly. there is so much to talk about with people, but our world is evolving elsewhere.
Great piece of writing, reflecting today\'s society

To me they look like aliens walking around with the phones stuck in their faces - maybe Darwinism will grow a special ledge on faces to hold the phones....... sounds more like isolation and loneliness than communication doesn\'t it.......

So true Michael. They reckon that 45% of youngsters only converse via there \'phones.
We have a neighbour with a 15 year old daughter, I was talking to her mother a few days ago and she was saying that her daughter never sees her friends outside of school but only communicates via her \'phone. She has tried taking her \'phone from her daughter but life then apparently is horrendous between the two of them.

Conversation has gone downhill and our youngsters are losing the art - and when they like do use it they like use it badly like. But they are not alone - lost count of the number of times I heard \'I was sat\', \'he was stood\' etc on the TV last night. Grrrrr.

As for the use of phones the world doesn\'t see itself any more, heads are downward bent with no appreciation of surroundings. So you can guess I love your write Andy.

BRIAN & ANGELA said:

The SCRIPTURES tell us that P;anet Earth is blessed with two Perfect Lights for free. The SUN by day which is also a Solar heater ~ at no extra cost ! God knew there would be some nocturnal Activity ~ but also that the majority would be sleeping ! So he created the Moon which would reflect the Sun\'s light by night ~ MOONLIGHT ! It is much less intense than SUNLIGHT but sufficient for early man (20,000 BC ?) to do the Night Shift ! Because we have so much artificial light we tend to overlook how important MOONLIGHT would have been in 20,000 BC ! Yours BRIAN.
