With such irresistible accompaniment, this seems dynamic. Thank you very much for sharing. Excellently rendered with a touch of imagery and with those strains, what a haunting poignancy! Thank you for sharing.

If you live in a council house, it doesn\'t suprise me, the UK is on its knees, I feel the pain in any case because I know how much you love your home and street. 🌹

It felt that way when I was young as well. Difference was the old folks didn\'t move out and we didn\'t move in, we had to find other ways. A good write and I hear this from many.

Andy you got me on this one had me going thinking about the people I give lifts to thumbing. I used to thumb as a kid and in all the rides I go only had one incident where the guy wouldn\'t let me out where I asked and had to walk an extra mile. My wife gives lifts to anyone that asks and even to some that don\'t. Yea bad things happen but to shut off charity for risk is a bad thing. But the humor in the last line left me laughing and that deserves a fave my friend

It’s got that cheeky twist ending that completely reframes the ride you thought you were on. What starts as a wholesome roadside kindness drifts into campfire‑story territory, then flips into pitch‑black humour with the final punchline. The rhymes are simple and jaunty, which makes the sudden macabre reveal land even harder, a bit like a nursery rhyme walking into a crime novel. It’s playful, a little unsettling, and very self‑aware of the tropes it’s poking fun at. Almost like it’s winking from the rear‑view mirror as you realise you’ve been in on the joke the whole time. A pure joy! 🕊️🙏🏻

My Hungry Body Satisfied.
arqios said:

This poem unfolds like a love letter to music itself: sensual, devotional, and lifelong. It borrows the language of physical intimacy to describe an artistic and emotional connection, turning listening into a full‑body experience. The closing line, leaping from Bach to Pink Floyd, captures the joy of range; how the same soul can be fed by baroque precision one day and psychedelic expanse the next. It’s an ode to versatility, and to the idea that music isn’t just a pastime, but a constant, evolving love affair. It leaves the sense that this “hunger” isn’t meant to be satisfied once and for all but it’s meant to keep pulling you toward the next note, the next discovery.
