Did you know that there was no such place as Nazareth when Jesus was alive. It did not exist until 300 years after his death. Jesus was a Nazarean who were a sect very much opposed to the occupation of their land by the roman empire.
There are a lot of facts which the christian churches have twisted to suit their aims since the early days of the roman church before the reformation. A faith in a higher power (or God if you prefer) is widely accepted in the west (and by me you may be surprised to learn) outside of the established churches but the twisting of facts for strange reasons has led to the unpopularity of christianity by and large.
