Love the imagery you use in this verse of yearning. The final line too is very telling.

My Name
SoulMeetsBody said:

Names are fascinating. Like you say, it\'s an entire identity. Crazy thing is, we don\'t really get a say in the matter, except if you choose to change it. Usernames on the other hand... Great poem that\'s got me thinking.

A Selfless Child
Gary Edward Geraci said:

You’ve taken effort to write a good biography about yourself...thank you! Your poem speaks to the discouraging confines of a person of above average reason locked within the rules and restrictions of an adolescent (of which I dare not disparage). However, you have undoubtedly discovered the transcendental quality that writing evokes upon the writer. Hence, the flying you write about can be interpreted as a manifestation of the freedom of being joyfully liberated from the otherwise, mundane lifestyle peculiar to a young woman your age. You are a gem, unique and brilliantly burning with clarity and potential, a gem that should be continuously polished my friend.

Good write, we always have the choices in our live and do we always take the right path, the good path; possibly not but we will always be left with the question in our lives \"What if I had taken the other path?\"

I had a spiritual teacher who would often say; \"The dark and the light, one and the same\", referring to the opposite ends of the same spectrum we explore and experience as humans. As you say in your comments, \"without the other side we could not be a balanced human being\". Fine poem, Seeker!

Wow.. Just.. Wow
Your writing sings to me

I started doing this early (13)
People would say to me
You don\'t understand what your writing/saying
They didn\'t understand where I\'d been
Life made me grow up fast
With ever breath until the last
I\'ll say that Wisdom is not an age
Understanding not a number
For we are walking proof
Standing up for each other

Take care

Wow, you just put the first time I saw a family member passed way in a hospital bed in my head. Then straight after a friend that took her own life (live, learn and figure it out) was a recent one in memory of her.

I truly thank you, from a healed soul that not enough compassion and empathy lives in the world.
